“Beautiful resort, noisy room”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We stayed in a two bedroom lodge. Which was a one bedroom with a full kitchen and living area connected to another much smaller one bedroom unit. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. My complaint was how much I could hear the people above me. It sounded like a herd of cattle at times. I have never heard so much noise above me, not even in a hotel room. My kids looked forward to the cookies that were brought to our room every evening. The shuttle service was very fast. You call and they are there in minutes. The drivers were knowledgeable. The indoor pool was fun for the kids and a good size. The bathrooms near the pool were always very clean and warm. The fitness room was small, but the equipment was newer and in good condition. The trails were fun to walk and run. The lake was beautiful and we rented a brand new, 2014 pontoon boat. Overall the resort was a perfect vacation for our family. I would never stay in the lodge again because of how noisy it was.

Just finished a 2 night stay over Easter weekend, our first stay here. They have great accommodations and service. My kids enjoyed the outdoor heated pool which was plenty warm especially for mid-April. There was a little construction going on but it wasn't too much of a problem. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony from our lodge and taking in the beautiful scenery; very relaxing. There are many activities and things to do, we barely scratched the surface. We will most definitely be back, probably many times.

I like the setting, but not for serious fisherman! No bait shops with minnows? seriously? Plus my cabin stinks....as in smells really bad! I opened all windows, tried to air out , nothing worked...ugh!

I am in the middle of a seven day stay at Roaring River Lodge at Big Cedar. This has been the most relaxing stay of the many resorts I have visited in 20 years. I am impressed by the tremendous staff - friendly, helpful and hard-working. The appearance of the resort, ease of transport and the many services aren't seen in a lot of 5 stars in the world. This is my second trip here in 10 years. Previously, we stayed in the cabins on the Canyon cove. If I were still a Conservation Dept. administrator - I would be planning our conferences for this property. Thank you Big Cedar and Wilderness Club for my recovery from a stressful business world.

We recently stayed in the Indian Creek lodge at Wilderness Club. We had a 2-bed/2-bath unit overlooking the pool/hot tub area. Our unit was beautifully yet comfortably decorated - lots of nice things but you totally felt like you could put your feet up and relax without hurting the furniture. There was a full kitchen completely furnished with dishes, pots, etc., and even a washer/dryer. The gas fireplace was a welcome touch and the bathrooms were huge! My favorite feature was the veranda overlooking the pool area with a great view of the hills and valley, with a waterfall providing soothing sounds. There was even a "cookie lady" who brought homemade cookies to your room every evening after dinner time. There was satellite tv and blu-ray in the living room and both bedrooms, and free dvd rental at the check-in lodge. They also provide 24-hour free shuttle service to take you from your room to the check-in lodge, gift shop, any of the restaurants, conference center, etc. There were many entertainment options that we didn't have time to try, such as horseback riding, hay rides, paddle boats, fishing, and more. This was definitely not a money-saving destination, but you also definitely get your money's worth. If you want to treat your family, consider Big Cedar!

Room Tip: We were on the second of three floors, and there was occasional noise from people walking heavily ab...

The Big Cedar Wilderness Club is great. We go every year and if you go Memorial Weekend they have a nice fireworks display that Sunday night. The rooms have a great cabin feel and are nice and clean. Many pools and things to do all on site, with a shuttle to take you to those places. The lazy river is great! I highly recommend this place.

We just had a 4 day stay during Spring Break. The staff was fantastic and we had a great time! I wish the weather would have been a little warmer so that we could really enjoy some of the outdoor activities and the gorgeous pools. The kids still had fun swimming, but even the indoor pool was way too cold for me. I hope we're able to come back sometime during the warmer Summer months. We DID take full advantage of the large selection of movies available to borrow and the hot chocolate and hot cider to go with it!
The only unpleasant part of our stay was incredibly noisy upstairs neighbors.

Room Tip: We had a room in the lodge that had a King size bed and a pull-out sofa. We were able to very comfor...
