We only stayed one night in the Honor Roll Room but we loved it. The entire School House is so nice and we were so impressed with the attention to detail. They really have thought of everything and if you need anything else, they'll find it! We loved the back patio with the swing too. We will for sure be back and will send anyone we can!

While the cost might be a bit higher per night than some people may prefer, the good news is that they do it right with a lot of attention to details. This includes a perfect pre-set temperature for the room, combination of complimentary goodies (fresh baked cookies, snacks, sodas) to reasonably priced extras (beer, local wine). The grounds seem to have something for everyone, from a nice patio, secluded benches, pergola, swing and basketball court...and both outdoor and sheltered parking for bike travelers (very important given it's proximity to the Katy Trail). There's not a whole lot to Rocheport (which is part of its draw) but this location is proximate to everything, including Abigail's (reservations suggested and save room for delicious dessert). The Rocheport General Store next door to Abigail's offers live music most weekends in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There are a few B&B choices in Rocheport, but this should be on anyone's list.

Room Tip: we stayed in SchoolMarm. Great location, but you get the morning sun (okay by us...and there are sh...

Thank you for your positive comments! We hope our guests see the value in all the included extras we provide for their convenience and enjoyment during their stay. And Rocheport actually has several tourism activities for a town of 239 people. We're a gateway to the most scenic section of the 240 mile Katy Trail, our Les Bourgeois Winery is the 3rd largest winery in Missouri, we have both gourmet and casual restaurant options and quaint shops scattered throughout town. But as you noted, Rocheport is more about taking time out of your hectic schedule to slow down and relax for a couple of days.

We stayed in the Spelling Bee Room for 2 nights and biked the Katy Trail during the day. The building brought back memories of my own elementary school that was from the same era. The decor, and hospitality were awesome. The patio's were so restful to sit and relax with a pizza from the local shop and wine from the local winery. Our bikes were housed in the bike shed. The breakfasts were excellent and they were very accommodating of my food sensitivities. Loved the swing in the gazebo! I couldn't think of a single thing they could have done to improve. We will be back next year, I hope.

Riding the Katy Trail end to end 16 yrs ago, we stayed in the Schoolhouse. This time we discovered the Dormitory and it'll be our new must-stay-at place on the Katy! They have thought of EVERYTHING a biker could need for a good night's stay: Complimentary laundry, Bike storage shed with an air compressor to air up your tires and tools to do any adjustments on your bike, Self Service check in and out, Fridge stocked with breakfasts supplies and sodas, Microwave with a popcorn treat! This is THE place to stay in Rocheport!

Room Tip: The South Dorm Room was where we stayed.

We stayed in the Show 'n Tell Room for our 1st Anniversary and it was very nice! The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Very cozy atmosphere which was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent! We would like to go back again this time to ride bikes on the Katy Trail when it's not raining.

We were in Rocheport to ride the Katy Trail. We stayed in the dorm for two nights while several of our friends stayed in the Schoolhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The self-check-in couldn't have been easier. Just walk up to the door, pick up your envelope containing your receipt and the door code, and you're in. The entire place was spotless. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The refrigerator was stocked with soda, milk and juice, along with fresh fruit, muffins and bagels. Oatmeal and cereal were in a basket above the microwave. A cabinet contained coffee and tea, along with silverware, plates and bowls. The bathroom had several good towels and washcloths, the shower contained gel, shampoo and conditioner, and there was lotion. The futon was comfy for seating, and although you have to follow posted directions to drop it into a bed and back up, sleeps comfortably as well. There were folding chairs available, along with a wooden chair. We didn't use the bunk beds, so can't comment on them. There is a ceiling fan, alarm clock, and wall-mounted tv. There is a washer and dryer outside the room, and another bathroom with shower. A shed is provided for bike storage. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and there are several seating areas provided. Parking for the dorms is behind the building. We did have to drive about five miles to a convenience store in Midway for a few things. If you are here to ride, it's two blocks to the Katy Trail, and the rides in both directions are beautiful, especially downriver. We hope to stay here again.

The Schoolhouse is such a precious little getaway in the quaint town of rocheport. My mom and I stayed here for one quick night while riding a little of the Katy trail. It was the perfect place to begin our cycling adventure and the perfect place to stay. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts could not have been more gracious! We would feel fortunate to get to stay here again!
