After such rave reviews we were a little let down. The food was delicious but very small quantity for the price. Service was not up to the same quality as the food, the waiter was not able to multitask.

We were able to dine at Abigail's again for a birthday celebration while we were staying the weekend at The School House. It never fails to impress us each time we dine there and this time was no different. The food is always so fresh and obtained from local suppliers as much as possible. The limited number of seats and eclectic surroundings makes you feel like you have stumbled upon your own secret dining location in some remote location.

The food was incredible as always. The salads topped with fresh beets and blue cheese were amazing. She had the filet and I had the pecan trusted trout. The one BIG problem I had with the trout is that it is one of my favorite dishes at a great restaurant we like to frequent in KC and this has now spoiled me so much I may need to get something else the next time at the KC restaurant:). We didn't really save room, but we had to share some of the delicious homemade dessert. Even though I was stuffed, the carrot cake was awesome and we ate every last crumb!

As it is limited seating, try to make reservations as soon as you can. You won't be disappointed. We were too tired this visit, but if you are there on the weekend, it is fun to be able to go next door after dinner for a nightcap and listen to some great local music. The owner/operators of both establishments are very friendly and seem to truly enjoy what they are doing and grateful you have chosen to spend some time with them.

We love Rocheport and the times we are able to spend there.

With only a few hundred souls in the town, one might expect a rustic coziness and friendly, attentive service, but here is also genuinely fine food. The inventive menu, on a chalkboard, changes frequently, and includes several interesting vegetarian options as well as seafood and meat dishes. Everything we had was freshly done and quite delicious. There are many tempting homemade desserts.

Also gratifying was a much better-than-expected wine list, with markups MUCH lower over retail than most places charge. Coupled with the fact that most entrees, which include salad and fresh bread, are well under $20, Abigail's is a delightful bargain.

Be aware that many dishes have very sweet components, if you wish to avoid sugar.

5 stars for fulfilling their concept extremely well.

Average at best. I give the food 2.5 stars (average) and the ambience a 4.

We had a table for 5 and shared samples from each dish. It was just ok. Not bad but nothing wow'd us. Just average. We wished otherwise but nothing was to rave about.
If you're hungry, you have reservations and are ok with average food for moderately above average prices. Great! Go. You personally won't be disappointed.

This was the perfect combination of small town meets fine dining. Workers there are friendly but not overly annoyingly friendly. The food was just as good as anywhere I have ever eaten before. I had the ribeye and my girlfriend had the seafood ravioli, both were incredible, however, the ravioli was a pretty small portion. Everything from the wine to the dessert was great though. Do make sure you have a reservation, it is not a big place and fills up.
