My kids and I started going down to Main Street St. Charles years ago and we are there usually at least once a week. I just love it. Something draws me there. From taking a stroll and discovering a new shop or discovering one we'd never been in before, to going for lunch, dinner or a snack we are always happy when we go there. One of the places that we always go to is Riverside Sweets where they have candy, chocolates, knickknacks and more importantly for the kids, ice cream!
We love to visit people we know who have shops there, stroll along and go into the Gazebo and visit the historic center.
They have so many events here as well that are a must. Festival of the Little Hills is always fun to walk around and check out all the booths.
You can spend less than an hour to all day down here. It's up to you - just always come back. We do!!

Thank Pamela B

Enjoyed walking along and shopping at the various quaint shops. We were there on a Tuesday and a lot of places were closed but there were enough open to keep us busy.

I went with friends to St. Charles during my St. Louis stay. It was such a cute area. Plenty of street parking & tons of shops & bars! Well worth the slight drive to see something different!

With the fast pace we now travel, it's relaxing to visit here. With the brick streets, old buildings and laid back charm, it's hard not to relax and slow down. Great places to eat, neat shops of all kinds, with a little bit of history and quaint surroundings.

Brick streets and sidewalks, dating from long ago, make it impossible to anything more than mosey up and down the main street of historic St. Charles. Entering every open shop revealed myriad unique gifts and places to eat. I was impressed with the genuine friendliness of shop owners and staff. Everyone seemed to have plenty of time to talk about their shop, its history and the special events planned for the summer in the town. So close to St. Louis and so far away in time visiting the first capital of Missouri while visiting the current capital connects one through time. A lovely afternoon.
