This is a good place to visit while you're waiting for your tram ride to the top of the arch. Has some interesting items, but not everything is labeled.

The best thing about this free museum is the photograph collection. There is also a large collection of medals that were given to the Native Americans. There is a covered wagon, which is interesting. There isn't much else, however. Interesting, but not great, but it is free...

The Museum is a National Park complex known as Jefferson National Expansion and is below the Gateway Arch. The museum tells the story of our nations expansion West and specifically the exploration of the Louisiana Purchase. Great learning experience and kids earned their Junior Ranger badges as well.

This is a free museum, that can help you pass the time while you wait for your tram ride to the top of the Arch. At the base of the arch, you walk down the stairs into the arch basement, where you can get tickets to the top. Across from the ticket counter is this museum. It really isn't anything special, but if you are a history buff you might enjoy it. There aren't placards on everything, which is frustrating. There are models that move, which are different, but the information that provide is limited. I wouldn't make this a must see, nor would I block out time for it; but I don't enjoy taxidermy items (of which there are a few).

This museum is not a complete waste of time, but pretty close to it. Very little interesting content, a lot of very fine-print text, few artifacts to appreciate. I will not be returning here.
