Not to be missed. The mosaics are amazing. You don't have to be Catholic to be impressed by this beautiful building.

The church is a architectural gem. The mosaic work inside the church is both amazing and simply beautiful. I have visited this church on many occasions and am always awed by the mosaic art within the church. The mosaic museum in the basement of the church is worth a visit. It gives a lot of history of the mosaic work and of the Catholic experience in St. Louis. This church should be viisited not only by Catholics but also by those who admire art and architecture. the Church is of course free and a small donation-fee is requested for the museum but does not seem to be mandatory.

If you have a few hours while in St. Louis, don't miss this church. The brochure says it has 83,000 sf of mosaics on the walls, ceilings, and floors. If you are a photographer, there a literally hours of shots here. There are guided tours, but you are also welcome to wander at your leisure. They only ask that you respect your environment and remember where you are. This is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis, so they say Mass daily at 12:15. Plan your trip accordingly or you could be stuck waiting for Mass to be over. Admission is free, but there is an offering box. I think you'll find it well worth the trip.

Breathtaking & Peaceful. To see the museum you do need to walk downstairs. However the Cathedral itself is wheelchair accessible. Truly a don't miss when visiting the city. For those of you who have visited Italy. You will see similar beauty in this church. Don't let it being a church scare you away. It is an architectural masterpiece.

The Cathedral is beyond beautiful...looks like something you would see in Europe. I took several pictures but they do not show the true beauty of the mosaic tile art work.
We arrived just as a wedding was ending so be sure to check the Mass schedule.
