I received excellent service from the moment I checked in through check out and getting my car from valet. Rachel set the bar high upon check in. I was tired from an 8 hour drive, and it was nice to be welcomed to the property in such a friendly fashion.
My checkout experience with Maggie (who is always a pleasure to talk to) and Kimberly went just as well as my check in. I felt more like their friend than a customer.
I forgot the name of the valet, but whoever was working on Tuesday 29 Oct at 1115 am needs to be commended for his excellent customer service.
This property is great for any of the many sporting events St. Louis has to offer.
I travel to St. Louis often, and I always choose this property.

Room Tip: Sign up for SPG. Work your way up to get upgraded to the suites. They are all extremely spacious...e...

We were relocated to the Sheraton by the Westin due to the MLB taking up the majority of the hotel for the World Series despite our reservation being made prior.

Checking in at the Sheraton was fine, the lobby was dated, but nothing that would cause me to walk out; however, upon exiting the elevator to my floor, the carpets in the hallway were filthy and the lighting dingy. The room only got worse. The sofa had some sort of bodily fluid on it as did the comforter along with hairs. The carpets were stained and dirty as was the bathroom floor. The room had a bad smell as well. Needless to day, despite being in St. Louis in the middle of the World Series, we managed to find a room at a much cleaner, nice hotel the same night.

Additionally, despite being a Starwood Preferred Guest member for years, the property offered no compensation or apologies for this issue. It will be a dark day before myself or my family will step foot in a SPG property.

Stayed at the end of a business trip. While it is close to the Scottrade Center, not much else nearby to recommend it, other than proximity to the train station across the street which is a cheaper alternative to the airport other than the $45 cab ride or $22 airport shuttle. While the employees are great, the hotel is old and somewhat run down. Pretty gross shower curtain in the room I stayed in as well as marked up walls in what is otherwise a spacious room with old furniture. In other words, a typical Sheraton.

First, let me say, the staff was wonderful. professional, courteous and helpful. Now, to the bad part. the hotel was tired, worn, stuffy, stinky and furniture was dirty. the sofa in our room was nasty and the carpet had spots all over it, the sofa bed was a joke. you could rub your hand across it and feel the springs.the Sheraton should be ashamed. it needs a major update and some fresh air.location was fine, across from Scottrade center if you are a hockey fan. the breakfast was awful, how can you mess up breakfast.again, the staff was superior in every way, I will never stay there again!c. cole ,old hickory, tn..

carolcole,

Thank you for such an honest review! We are so glad you took the time to share both the good and the bad feedback with us. We are truly lucky to have such a wonderful team here at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center. It is true that our property is older and has not had an opportunity for a full renovation. It is something we hope for sooner rather than later. We are currently in the process of renovating our lobby and we hope to see some changes in the guest rooms very soon. We have shared your feedback regarding the breakfast in our restaurant with our executive cheft. This will be addressed immediately. We appreciate the time you took to share this feeback with us.

Stayed here while going to Blues Hockey game, It is very nice staying here when going to an event at Scottrade center, it is just across the street. Our check in was very pleasant as the lady at the front desk was very nice and very helpful. The place has not changed any since the very first time we stayed here about ten years ago. It is still very nice and clean but it does have a few details that would make it a excellent place to stay. The rooms are always big with lots of room and the bathrooms are always big and clean. But our shower had about zero water pressure, it took forever to shower, don't use much shampoo or you won't get it rinsed out very fast. Also the caulk around the bottom of the shower was very dirty and moldy, definitely need to redo the shower. The ceiling in the sink area was dirty and did not even come together, but it still is a good place to stay just not great like it used to be. Needs some attention.

Room Tip: If you have kids get a suite they have lots of room for the kids ti play.

I've stayed in many Sheratons before and this hotel should not even be able to use that name. When we first entered our room it had a very strong weird odor. The walls had scuff marks everywhere. Couch stained and ripped. Wifi costs and we could barely get signal from our verizon phones. The dresser drawer was broken. The TV was very far away from the bed and sitting area. Oh and the view! There was no view. The rooms window faced other rooms windows (almost like a prison) except there was a small water fountain at the bottom with cords hanging out of it. The king size bed was very mediocre and shorter in length than ours at home. At first the bed seemed to serve its purpose but after lying under the covers for ten mins I began to itch severely all over, even my eyes. I couldn't get any sleep. Dust constantly floated threw the room and piled up on my phone rather quickly while it was charging. There were also several gnats in the room. The hotel is right across from the Scott trade center but it is also across the street from a very busy bus stop where a lot of blk ppl gather. Stairs had many cigarette buds and spider webs on them. We didn't get anything when we complained about our rooms cleanliness therefore we checked out early without a refund.

1travelnurse86,

Thank you for your honesty. We are so sorry to hear about your experience and assure you that is not a normal occurrence. Our housekeeping team will ensure that the rooms are thoroughly inspected before we check a guest in. We apologize if the atrium view caught you off guard. The size of the overall building structure does require that some of the rooms face the interior. We try to eliminate surprises by labeling them as atrium views before our guests arrive. We apologize if this caught you off guard. We also apologize that there was not as much follow up upon your departure. It is our goal that all of our guests leave satisfied and it seems this was not the case during your visit with us. Thank you again for your honesty. Your review gives us several areas of improvement.
