Stayed during Missouri Valley Conference "Arch Maddness" Basketball Conference. It was a mixed bag, but way more good than not-so-good.
Location: Right by the Arch, with nice views of it from our room (corner balcony King Suite). Convenient to the Dome, Baseball Field, walking distance to Scottrade Center (basketball, hockey, etc). In the downtown entertainment district for sure. Price we paid was reasonable for a big-city downtown hotel ($180.00/night) suite. Service was generally quite good, staff was very friendly.
Hotel itself? Well, its a little worn. Nothing terrible, but hallways are narrower than newer construction, doors are a little beat up. Room itself has received some upgrades, but still showing some wear around the edges. Asked for some bedding for the second room hide-a-bed, they told us they were out of pillows, and we had to use the spares from the king bed. This was Ok, but out of pillows, seriously? We DID reserve for 4 people in this room, there should have been bedding already there.
But, in spite of the few negatives, the positives more than made up for it. Great location, wonderful views, friendly staff. if we can get similar pricing, we will stay there again.
