We visited on Father's Day, arriving to a full lobby. We parked across the street at another parking garage (City Park) for higher required clearance (7' here), so I can't comment on the parking situation that others have complained about. Check in was quick, but when we got to our room the keys didn't work. It took two trips to the desk and eventually maintenance and security had to come to the room to fix the lock. The room was clean and comfortable. I was on alert for anything less than clean from some of the previous reviews, but wasn't able to find anything that bothered me on the cleanliness. There was a place on the bathroom door from where someone had busted it and a leg of the desk was weak, but we brought that to security's attention while they were fixing the lock.

As other reviewers have noted, the bathrooms are small. I found it to be clean, though, if not large enough to change your mind in. Standard tub/shower combination with a nice shower head and the curved rod. This is an older building, but they've done well at making use of the space, which I appreciate. There were only two bath towels in the bathroom, but as soon as we called for additional towels, they responded to our room within 10 minutes.

The sofa bed needed linens, but they were brought with the towels. I expect that they reduce the laundry loads and ensure fresh linens on the sofa bed by only providing them when needed. Not a problem since they responded so quickly.

Latonya at the front desk was exceptional, learning my name after the second trip down. The following morning I realized that I had goofed on our reservation. Despite having only five rooms left in the hotel, she managed to find a room to accommodate our family of 6 into another room. The new room required a rollaway bed be delivered and it was there within minutes of the new room being assigned.

The second room was an ADA room that had just had the bathroom converted. The bathroom was huge.

The rooftop pool was nice and was consistent with other hotel pools - no diving boards, etc. There was an observation deck as well that was nice, but the area around that could have been cleaned up a bit on the roof.

As I stated earlier, this is an older building so don't expect brand new and shiny. We stayed here when this was a Radisson about 10 years ago and it was shabby and dirty. It's clean now and looked great to us. We would certainly stay here again if in downtown St. Louis.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the south side of the hotel if you want to see the arch and Busch Stadium. Rooms...

i guess people had different experience with the customer service, but my experience was great especially with the manager Sam. He was extremely understanding and time-concious as well. I didn't get a chance to eat here but the bartenders were nice too. I was here on the day of the game so i guess the hotel was full but for some reason i didn't feel it too much.

Room Tip: high floor corner king room with a view has an excellent view of the arch.

We stayed here for a couple of days to watch a couple of Cardinals games. This is a very dated and worn out hotel. Lobby furniture was old, grungy, broken down. In the 3 days and 2 nights we were there the escalator up to the 2nd floor (where the restaurant is) was broken. The elevators are slow and rickety. While parking in available, it is not convenient. Plus you have to walk past the garbage pit which was cooking in the 95 degree heat. The toilet height was less than the standard height making it a chore getting on and off the throne. Front desk staff was friendly and Efficient.

I rarely write reviews and usually would read a terrible review and think that the person was just picky. This is not the case with our experience at this hotel in St. Louis. We stayed here one night for a Cardinals game May 31st. And we will never stay here again.

First - we tried to self park, but the parking ramp was difficult to navigate and pretty scary. We ended up changing our mind and using the valet. I will say the Valet was our only positive experience at this hotel. The valet was the friendliest person we came across.

Then, we checked in and the front desk clerk asked us only the minimum questions necessary to check us in and did not say anything extra to us. She and her co-worker behind the counter acted like it was an inconvenience that we were there checking in and were not friendly at all!!

We checked into our room on the 16th floor which was dirty/grimy and old. Thankfully we had an ok view of the arch/old courthouse. We could not change the temperature of our room and the AC was barely blowing. It was a very uncomfortable temperature in the room.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. It was extremely easy to walk to the ballpark and the arch, but we spent as little time as possible in the hotel itself. We even spent time at a different hotel's bar prior to the game.

We settled into our room to just spend one night there and learned the walls were paper thin! We had a party crowd in the room next to us and it was extremely difficult to sleep. Finally falling asleep at 1am, the fire alarm was pulled and went off long enough we felt we had to go down to the lobby.

The staff was rude and not very accommodating to the guest displaced at 1am. Not getting a very good answer as to when the elevators would again be operational or if there was truly a fire, we walked up to the 16th floor at 2am to try to get some rest.

Thankfully the next morning when the front desk asked us how our stay was - (checked out at 6am to get the heck out of there and we were not the only ones). She was somewhat friendly when I laughed and told her it was terrible and we were extremely tired from not sleeping much at all. She did pay our valet fees for the trouble.

In the end, DO NOT STAY Here. This hotel is an embarrassment to the crowne plaza name and needs to be majorly renovated and the staff need some classes in customer service!!

Find a different hotel. The wait time at the front desk averaged about 15 minutes. They were poorly staffed and several people at the front desk stood around talking to other staff while there were at sometimes over a dozen people in line. The cleaning people did a terrible job. Never brought all our towels and we had to call the front desk to get someone to bring them to us. Escalator going up stairs was also broken.

Room Tip: Stay at the Hilton or the Hyatt

It certainly is difficult to avoid wait times at our reception counter on days in which the Cardinals are playing a home game. I am truly sorry if your wait time caused you any inconvenience.

This was my first time staying at the downtown St. Louis Crowne Plaza. It is a good base for all the DT SL activity - especially going to a Cards' game. The hotel has a great lounge with tasty food. The room was comfortable. I did have some issues with the hotel, but when I brought this to the attention of hotel management they addressed all the concerns in a timely and satisfactory fashion and so I will stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

The convenience and location of this downtown St. Louis hotel completely overrides the fact that, as others have pointed out here, the rooms and hallways are a bit dated. That said, they were clean, efficient, and the proximity to Busch Stadium, the Arch (look at the pic I attached) and the many things to do in downtown St. Louis more than made up for it. The staff was also very nice from the front desk clerks on check-in to passing the maids in the hall and having them always greet us.

I would definitely go back.
