What a treat. Not sure why they only have one of these, but you must try it. There are many, many different combinations you can get. Since this was our first time we got something rather simple, the Lemon Custard with Graham Crackers chunks. Out of the world delicious.

Always long lines but they serve up very quickly. A must have when you are in St. Louis!

The small original Ted Drews takes you back to a different era and reminds us of how great the simple things in life are.
We had to try the concrete (a super thick malt) in many flavors and all were great. My buddy had his kids and bought 3 flavors for them to try and they are still talking about them.
The line was long, but the service was quick so not issue.

It's just great custard at a decent price. It's always busy but they don't make you wait long. A great St. Louis tradition

So its a blazing hot day in St Louis and you are about to overheat. What do you do? Here is what I would do. Drive over to Ted Drew's and get some of the tastiest and coolest frozen custard to ever tickle your taste buds. I am a Route 66 nut and a touring musician. You can not go to St. Louis and NOT stop here. This place is a busy place and with reason. You WILL wait in line because it is the BEST place on planet earth to get something to cool you down. That is part of the fun and a must IF you are going to get the best on planet earth. I think the saying, "good things come to those who wait", had to be created here. Now here is the good part. You waited in line to order and you waited for your order to be created and you now have it in your hand. The first taste is going to be amazing. They have been doing it this way longer than most people have been alive and it is on old Route 66. you can not say you got your kicks on Route 66 till you have tasted a part of the history. That reminds me I am back in St Louis again and it will time for more of the historic goodness this evening. If your travel to St Louis to see the giant arch, take the time to find Ted Drew's and cool down a bit. You might have to hunt a parking spot but it will be more than worth it. Once you try this place you will know how good it is and why it is a very busy place.

We travel to Saint Louis frequently but never had made it to visit Ted Drew's and now we are wondering why it took us so long! What a fabulous tasty treat! We both got "Concretes" which are similar to Dairy Queen Blizzards where they mix in toppings and flavors into their famous custard, but 100 times better than Dairy Queen! There are numerous flavors and I chose a Mini size Pistachio which had pistachio flavoring and loads of crushed pistachios. So delicious and so affordable! Their concretes come in 3 sizes -- Mini is $2.30, Regular is $3.70 and Large is $5.00. They also offer sundaes, shakes, malts, cones, etc. We'll be sure to try to stop here every trip to STL from here on out!
