My husband and I were looking forward to a quiet, relaxing anniversay at the Lodge. It turned out that, unknown to us, there was a birthday party booked in the lobby right below our room. It began at 5pm and lasted until after 11pm. We couldn't roam around the premises because of the party, so we felt exhiled to our very small, cramped Mississippi room. The one redeaming feature was a very good buffet the next morning. There was no one that we could discuss our displeasure with so we left on a very disgruntled note.

I am so sorry your stay at the Lodge at Grant's Trail was not the experience you had hoped. I believe that we explained to you the party was reserved some time ago and it would be over by 10:00 p.m. This may not have been understood, and for that I apoligize. I believe we offered you a night stay anytime at no charge in order to make amends. You explained that you would not be coming back to this area so it would not be used. If ever you are in this area again, I would like to make it up to you so please call in advance and we will make sure your stay will be more beneficial. Jan Orlando

We absolutely fell in love with this Bed & Breakfast! It's beautiful inside and out. If you're in the area, you will not find finer accomodations! Everything was perfect - the decor, the food, the friendly people. I will certainly be back! I want to go back just for the coffee!!

We arrived in the evening to find the hotel locked and desserted, but there was a note on the door with our name on and details inside, a little like Mission Impossible with door codes taking us to other envelopes and eventually our room key.

The hotel was empty apart from us, we were the only guests. We were trusted to go into the kitchen to help ourselves to drinks. In the morning a lovely lady, the owner, made us breakfast and told us many tales of her life and the hotel.

Each room is themed, cosy and comfortable. The hotel is full of nick nacks, antlers, moose heads, handbags, a bear, masks, photos of probably dead people, instruments, etc. A real quirky find for an independent motel. Highly recommended.

There were roadworks nearby which meant the bridge leading to the hotel was out, so it was difficult to find the building without sat nav.

The hotel is a boutique hotel with each room themed. When we arrived there was only one member of staff who left shortly thereafter. We had access to cold drinks or coffee..but we were the only people in the hotel! Next day the hotel was booked out for an Easter Brunch, but we were served breakfast separately in the Lincon Room. Strange but actually very nice!

We had our wedding and reception there and everything was top notch. We rented all of the rooms the night of the event and had family and friends staying over so we had the whole place to enjoy. The rooms were great and the staff was extra friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and there are other places nearby to eat. Highly recommend for a stay or event.

A feast for the eyes and soothing for the soul. Comfort, comfort, comfort.
Priced competitively with all the chain hotels around, this place offers so much more - more attention to detail, more comfort, and wonderful service. Oh and did we say the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Mary, who prepared our breakfast was very nice and attentive.

Out of all the hotel we stayed in during our Route 66 trip this was my girlfriends favourite. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel right at home. It was if you were staying with friends. The room was great with a nice balcony and as the other reviewers have commented breakfast was served in cosy surroundings. A lovely place to stay.
