Talk about authentic Little Italy type cuisine, I kept expecting Frank Sinatra to start crooning at any moment. Great Food with a wonderful atmosphere of Old Italian Charm, just the way my wife remembers the evenings in Syracuse NY where she grew up. Save the dessert for a take out box and walk across the street to the corner bakery...you WILL NOT be sorry (unless you eat too much). Can't say enough good things about Zia's "on the hill". Best experience I've had in a while.

We heard about the Hill in St Louis and the good Italian food. We went with no particular restaurant in mind. After navigating around this wonderful old neighborhood, we settled on Zia's.
We could have not made a better choice. The food and the staff were fantastic. If you get a chance to go, do not pass this one up.

This is our favorite restaurant on the Hill in St. Louis. Normally crowded especially when one of the professional sports teams is playing. The draw for us is the tomato sauce. Not everyone may be a fan of the "sweet" sauce; but, if you are this is your place. Good value. Portions are large. Service is good but not great.

We had just landed in St. Louis, rushed to our hotel, gotten this recommendation and called to make sure they'd be open - as long as we arrived before 9, we were told. We arrived just after 8:30 and were warmly greeted, told we had plenty of time and were seated in a large room off the bar area where plenty of others were at different stages of their meals. Our waiter helped us choose from the broad menu - veal parmigiana and chicken spiedini - and brought us each large bowls of salad greens with loads of grated cheese. The veal (?) sauce, also with a side of the pasta. We took home one whole serving of the pasta and half the veal. Service was excellent. The wine list offered good choices, and we opted for a glass of chianti and a glass of pinot grigio. Can't wait to go back next time we're in St. Louis.

This Italian restaurant is located in the St. Louis neighborhood known as "the Hill" where quite a number of Italian restaurants, bakeries, and food stores are located. At Zia's my son and I both had the spiedini which came with a large salad and a side of pasta. The servings were large. WE had the baked ravioli as an appetizer which ts a specialty in the area. The service was somewhat slow, but this is not a "fast food" restaurant. I think there may have been some confusion as to which waiter was responsible for our table. Overall a good experience!
