Three of us had dinner there last night. The Chili Relleno was tasteless and barely warm, the Shitake Sliders were greasy & tasteless, the Moussaka had a soy protein on the top that tasted old and again was not hot. The Brussel Sprout salad was OK except for the really big, thick slices of onions.

All such a shame sine the service was great. No intention of returning.

We have two vegetarians in my family, so I'm always looking for a restaurant that has more than one or two options for them. At Tree House, they can choose anything from the menu! The menu consists of snacks, small and large plates, so we ordered an array of plates. We ordered the grits (super good; we all claimed to hate grits until we tasted these), fried beets, mushroom sliders, mushroom pate, beet humus, Johnnycake, and a cheese-type bread, Tree House salad, and jambalaya. Everything was well-prepared and was wonderful! The mushroom pate was the only dish we didn't rave about. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't flavorful. The top-rated items were the grits, jambalaya, and Tree House salad. My 11 year old grandson ate everything we ordered although he was sure he wouldn't like any of it. I will say that if you have kids, some picky eaters will not find too much on the menu for them. Our waiter said they don't have that many kids eat there. Our server was very helpful and efficient. We had a great family dinner and would go back anytime.

We ate as a family here on a Saturday night. We did not need reservations, although it did get busy as the evening went on. The ambience is very nice, an old store front with both small and large tables and a nice bar to sit at also. So it is great for families and couples. The menu has many options, appetizers, small plates, salads and large plates. The favorite item of the evening was the french fried beets which even our beet hating teenager loved. One plate served three as an appetizer. One entree we ordered was the taco plate, 3 tacos with different fillings. It was a creative and delicious. The proteins were mainly tofu and seitan, (a meat like wheat protein) and the vegetables were all fresh. The server did a great job of explaining the choices. We plan to go back to try more and hopefully try dessert.

This place is incredibly clean , light , creative, and delicious! The type of cuisine the Midwest needs to see and eat more of!
In one of only very few happening neighborhoods in Saint Louis.
The service is excellent (and should be for what it costs!)
I would recommend trying several things and sharing them if you are more than one dining.
However, this place is NOT RELAXING.
It is very noisy, and hard to have a conversation, you have to holler, so that kind of killed it for me.
Otherwise I would have given it 5 circles.
