The tall imposing Fine Art Palace of the World Fair of 1904, was retained to house the art museum.
At the entrance of the imposing building in the midst of the verdant Forest Park, one is greeted by the majestic , equestrian statue of the French emperor, Louis the xiv , for whom the city was named as St. Louis.
