Tired of modern B&Bs with absentee owners? Fleur de Lys isn't among them. This 100-year-old mansion is elegant and homey at the same time. You'll never feel that parts of the accommodations are off limits, but the couple who now owner the home also really live here-- planting in the garden and tending to Cookie, their amazingly quiet and unassuming house dog.
And the breakfast is a far cry from that "Fix-your-own" that seems all too acceptable at B&Bs these days. Go for a couple of days, at least, and spend some down time in the lovely garden and spacious parlors, reading and relaxing.
We found it charming.
