St. Louis Union Station Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

Reviewed 2 January 2014

Overall very good hotel. Only negative would be that there is no complimentary breakfast. There is a full service restaurant, but we did not try it. There is a Einstein Bagel store within Union Station that we did use. Also, parking is confusing if you have not been there before. Hotel staff was excellent.

Hello there, Andy D L and thanks for visiting us from Carmel, Indiana! I'm glad to see that you enjoyed your stay at the Station and hope you'll try the breakfast buffet in our Station Grille on your next visit. It's certainly more bountiful, and more delicious, than the "free" breakfasts offered at other hotels. We are a very unique and historic property and we do our best to explain the parking options to our guests. Your feedback tells me we need to do even better at explaining, especially to our first time guests. I hope we'll see you again on your next trip to St. Louis!

It was our first stay at this hotel. It's located in St. Louis's historic Union Station. Parts of the place stood out more than others. The grand ballroom, the old time looking elevators. You can feel the history of the station. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed is was very nice. They have all different types of ones you can choose from.

Room Tip: Be sure and ask where your room will be. Ask for someone to describe some of the room options. Talk...

We stayed at Union Station as a art of our families Christmas. The 5 of us are close and enjoy doing new things together. This stay was great. We went on the scavenger hunt around the station that the hotel provides (for free). It allows you to see everything Union Station is about. We even had the privilege escorted up in one of the old elevators and take some pictures from the second floor. THANKS!!! for making our family feel special!

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Our room was clean and comfortable, the concierge was extremely gracious, and the location is perfect if you're arriving by Amtrak or taking the Metro from the airport. If you love history and/or architecture, then you simply must stay here! The property originally was an ornate 19th-century train station, and much of its grandeur has been painstakingly restored. Attached to the hotel, built underneath the beams that used to cover the train tracks, are a food court and shopping mall--very convenient!

Convenient location, nice hotel. Stayed for two nights in December and used the valet service several times. 1st time retrieving they brought the wrong car around, we did not realize this for some time because they did not ask why we were still standing around. Upon leaving on Sunday there were a lot of guests leaving so we figured that a 30 min wait was fine. However on asking after our car it turns out that no one had even noted that we had called down for it. We then waited another 30+ min only to find that our car had been brought around but placed far enough up the street that we couldn't see it. We also noticed that it took a long time for room service dishes to be removed, the dishes from the guests before us were in the hallway from at least Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon.

We stayed in one of the original rooms and it was both beautiful and regal. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and quite. The windows were old and cloudy and you couldn't really see out of them. Union Station, while beautiful, has hardly no shopping to speak of and the only restaurants on property were the ones associated with the Doubletree Inn and were very expensive. THere are restaurants in walking distance of Union Station but there is no shopping in walking distance. The shops in Union Station consisted of weird trinket shops, Foot Locker, and a very few odd t-shirt/junk shops.

Hello from the Station, Jeff B! Thank you for taking a moment to stop by TripAdvisor and share the experience of your recent stay with others. I'm pleased to see that you enjoyed staying in the original part of our hotel. As you may have noticed, St. Louis Union Station is really in a state of transition right now. We anticipate seeing more shops and services coming soon that will really be a good match for the hotel and our clientele. We hope to welcome you back the next time you're in St. Louis. Thank you for being our guest!
