My wife and I spent a weekend in St. Louis and this a wonderful property. They did a great job of restoring the train station and converting to a hotel. Well located, it's walking distance to the ballpark. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Restaurant was nice, but it was a 20 minute wait for breakfast at 9 am on a Saturday. Overall, very nice.

This historic hotel is in a great location and is beautiful, but the rooms we stayed in seemed in serious need of renovation. The drapes were dingy, the air conditioning loud, the view unappealing, the walk from where we dropped off our car long. Food and drinks had been left on a table -- apparently from prior occupants. Overall, we were disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am terribly sorry you did not get to enjoy the new product we've been creating. It's clear that you stayed in the un-renovated portion of the hotel--good news this part has been shrinking with each passing month. When reading these reviews it's easy to see right away which guests experienced the "old station" vs. "new Station" and for readers I can't stress it enough; we are almost finished with our work. By August 15th there will NOT be any part of the "old guestrooms" and all that will be left is the 4-Diamond property supported by our 5-Star service staff. I hope you'll come to enjoy it for yourself!

Warmest regards,
Jeremiah Essmyer
Assistant General Manager

This is a great hotel to visit. You must check out the great hall and its light show in the evening. Sit a the bar and watch it all happen. Rooms are good and it is a great place to stay when visiting St Louis on Business or for a holiday

Upon arrival the service was quick and kind. Valet greeted me with a smile and helped me on my way with a full circle. Got a king suite on the executive level, room is smaller but it's a historic hotel. Executive level gets free happy hour appetizers and breakfast, nothing fancy but it's free! The room is clean and semi updated so you don't feel like your totally going back in time.
The great hall is beautiful and being next to the large park is a nice amenity to stroll through.

We Just Returned From Our 3-Day Mini-Vacation To Stay @ The Doubletree/Hilton St. Louis Union Station Hotel. We'd Reserved A "Superior Executive Level Suite Overlooking The Mille "Meeting of The Waters" Fountain".

The Entire Union Station Complex Is Undergoing A Complete Restoration (Most of Which Is Now Completed) So We Were Upgraded To A "Historic Head House Suite" With A 20' Ceiling & Expansive Living & Bathroom Areas On The 5th Floor. It Didn't Offer Our Requested Fountain View But Was Only A Quick 2-Floor Elevator Ride Directly Across From Our Room, Down To The 3rd Floor For The Daily "A.M. BREAKFAST & P.M. HOT APPETIZERS" In The Executive Concierge Room.

As A Matter of Fact These Culinary Benefits (That Came Complimentary With Our Room) Were Among The HIGHLIGHTS of Our Vacation. We Made COMPLETE MEALS of All of The EXPANSIVE OFFERINGS: Scrambled Eggs, Link Sausages, Cheeses, Lunch Meats, Mini-Lobster Quiches & Bacon-Cheese Burgers, Smoked Salmon (w/ Cream Cheese, Caper, & Onion Bagels), Assorted Pastries, Shrimp & Other Salads (Including A Delicious Housemade Curried Humus), Veggies w/ Dips, A Bevy of Non-Alcoholic Drinks (Alcoholic Drinks Also Available For A Small Fee), Cold & Hot Cereals, Fresh Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Red Raspberries, Melons, Parfaits, Yogurt, & Delectable Desserts (of Layer Cakes & Cheesecakes) + Cashews, Crumbled Blue Cheese, Dried Cranberries & Other Pleasantly Unexpected Condiments!

The Furniture & Beds In Our Room Were Truly COMFORTABLE : )!
& Their Layout Was PERFECT : )! The In/Bathtub Shower Had Great Water Pressure. Although As Seniors We Would Have Appreciated A Handhold or 2 To Help Insure Our Balance While Showering.

The STL Union Station Complex Is Quite Expansive (On Our Last Day Our Luggage Handler Showed Us An Easy Way To Navigate From Our Room To The GRAND HALL Lobby, Streetside VALET Station, & Midway (Shops & Restaurants) Via Elevators & NO STAIRS : )!

The Nightly (4 pm - 10 pm) FREE SOUND & LIGHT SHOWS In The Elaborate & Expansive GRAND HALL Will WOW You (With It's Grandeur & 10-Minute Shows) It Also Becomes An Atmospheric Lounge, Serving Drinks & Light Dinner Fare In The Evening Hours.

The Staff, Including Concierges, Luggage Handlers, & Valets Were All Efficient & Courteous.

Although We Had Requested "Early Arrival" On Our Reservations We Encountered A 2-Hour Wait (Until 3 pm) For The Front Desk To Acknowledge That Our Room Was Ready & Even Then We Felt Like We'd Been Forgotten, As The 3-Member Front Desk Staff After 1 1/2 Hours Kept Promising Us That Our Room Would "Be Ready Shortly", "In A Few-Minutes", "In 2-Minutes", "In 1-Minute", & "Right Away With Your Key", While They Then Became Engaged With Other Guests At Their Front Desk. We Thank Them For The 4-Complimentary Drink Vouchers For Our Use @ The Grand Hall Bar.

We Did Each Get One of Your Check-In Cookies.

OVERALL, As Former Senior Cruise Director of A Conde' Nast Top-Rated Cruise Ship Line + A Top Contributor For TRIPADVISOR, I'm Pleased To Report That We Truly Enjoyed Our Stay, KUDOS To Your GRAND Accomplishment. One of Our Favorite Experiences Was To Just Sit Lakeside Watching The Paddleboats, Koi Fish, & Enjoying The Perfect Weather : ) Thank You : )!

We started out in a 2 nd floor room and we were unable to get wifi so asked to be moved. Our 5th floor room was much better! Better wifi and the room had recently been refurbished. We were in walking distance (1.3 miles ) of the arch and a few blocks from the city museum. Parking was outrageous at $20 a day and valet was $27 a day. Very small outdoor pool. Really nice workout room. Friendly staff. An overnight or few days would be okay here.

This was a most pleasant and relaxing visit. The room was updated, A/C worked great, upgraded to concierge for evening snacks/dessert - very nice lady working there (Carol), breakfast server was pleasant, shops in mall were nice, walked to Landry's for dinner so very convenient, didn't have to move the car, and were even offered warm cookies for the road when we departed! We will definitely chose this location for our next stay in St. Louis. Only complaint at all was that the pool was well-used and littered with lots of swim toys - they were also out of towels - but a quick visit to the front desk brought towels out in 5 minutes and I swam around the pool collecting unused pool noodles which left much more space to swim. A relaxing, visit - really enjoyed the light show in the barrel ceiling lobby, and enjoyed our (free) newspaper and coffee on the balcony behind the beautiful bar. What a gem!
