“Nice park for younger kids”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

We visited this park with our 3 and 6 year olds. They had a great time on the playgrounds. The park is fairly barren in the winter but the botanical center building is open. The gardens are brown. The butterfly house is warm weather only. The pond was even drained. I'm sure it is pretty in the summer. The big kids would be bored.

“Great Park”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This is a beautiful park. Walk around the lake with the kids or run/bike on the Greenway trails that connect. It's a great place to spend a few hours.

“My favorite park”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

I have watched this park go from a little to a lot. The gardens are amazing! I go often and always see something new. It's a great place to stroll and see the many beautiful plants. I take my granddaughter and she lives it there.

“Best park in Springfield!”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We love, love, love this park! Its very large and lots of variety of areas/activities to meet the needs of anyone at any age. Very nice garden areas, flowers and other plants. Ducks & geese around the pond area. Horses can be seen near the back side of the park area, along the Greenway trails. Great exercise/play areas for the kids around the pond and at the main park area. Plenty of parking.

“An awesome place for walking or biking”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Nathanael Greene Park is my favorite park in the city of Springfield. It's gardens are terrific. Walking around the small lake is a pleasure. If you're wanting to picnic they have some tables but not a lot.

Thank you for your response. The park is large with several locations for picnic tables. No doubt we could probably use more. For a quick reference, here's where you can find picnic tables: 5 on the Botanical Center Roof Plaza. 8 under the Nathanael Greene Pavilion with 9 more scattered in the lawn nearby. 6 at the Japanese Stroll Garden Pavilion. 1 by the Butterfly House. 3 near the Dwarf Conifer Garden. 5 near the Hosta Garden. 3 in the old "hog barn" covered shed across from the NatureGrounds Playground. There's also community rooms available for rent inside the Botanical Center.
