I've never had a problem with the staff or management at a hotel, with this exception. This hotel was clean, easy to find, the breakfast was dissappointing (not as good as most Hampton Inns), comfortable bed, room, etc. We were, however, woke up at 8 a.m. on our last day (our only day to sleep in) by a pounding noise...turned out they were remodeling...and when I voiced my concern at the front desk, the hateful and condescending lady said, "well, we waited until 8 a.m.!" She then began to make more excuses to which I said, "It would have been nice to have been notified, or put at the other end of the hotel"...she offered to refund 1 of my 3 night's stay......which was more than adequate. I thanked her. Then she announced......you had two guests...you only said one....I'll have to charge you....we didn't know. (I made this reservation thru the hotel's website, indicating TWO guests....) I indicated both my husband and I had talked with the front desk several times (asking about a good place to eat, etc., and had nothing but great results up until then) and they were well aware there were two of us. She acted like I was lying and tried to sneak the extra person in. After I returned home, I noticed an extra charge on my bank statement. When I called the hotel to inquire about the extra charge, I was put in touch with the GM, which, after talking with him, explained why the lady at the front desk was so hateful...
b/c this GM was rude! When I tried to give the GM some background...
"we've always enjoyed staing at Hampton Inn, never any problems, however, with this visit......" he interrupted me repeatedly and said, "What do you want me to do to make you happy?" I said, "Evidently, you don't want to hear what I have to say". He said, (he had charged me the extra $12.60 b/c we had 2 people in the room) "I'll just refund your extra charge...there's no point in talking about it". When I again said, "You aren't even going to take the time to listen?" he said, "Look, two of you stayed at the hotel, both of you used our electricity, both of you ate our food, we had to do laundry for both of you....... that's why I charged you more...but I'll refund the $12.60 and be done with it. And he hung up. We will not be staying at this Hampton Inn again....and for the record, we did NOT eat "his" food.......the breakfast wasn't that good.
