There was a time when traditional resorts like this ruled The Lake. Most are gone now and have made way for condos and homes.
First, the Location. This is really ground zero. You are about 4-5 miles north of Hurricane Deck off of MO 5 in Sunrise Beach. You can get to most of the Lake by car rapidly. All of Horseshoe Bend and Shawnee Bend is easily reached by boat. For Groceries, you are only 2 miles from 5 and can easily reach Woods Market to the south or G2M to the north. Lots of restaurants around there if you must.
No question... It is showing age. The fountain is full of algae, the game room has Reagan Era video games. The place has like 40 units. The exterior of some of the cabins are very dated but the interiors of the cabins are exceptionally nice. I think they should just tear out all of the ornate rock, fill the pool with dirt and grass it over and make everything simpler. The slip pads are padded with stapled carpet and old tires... pretty rigged up. They should focus on nicer slips and less on gamerooms and a heated pool.
The lake view is awesome. The swim dock is very well kept, clean and sound. The fishing there is great.
The staff is extremely friendly. Very nice. The units are well furnished with solid operating cable TV and good air-conditioning. They do not provide BBQ grills. The place is smoker friendly.
I will stay there again. I love the location, and the flaws cannot erase the fun and beauty of the Lake.
