went to dinner last evening....looking for Italian (not on the hill) and wanted something a little different.

Haven't been to Farotto's in 20+ years....but it's the same. Service was friendly, attentive but not overly so.

was there w/ BF for his birthday - reasonably priced, we had:

- t-rav's - homemade, awesome (if i a little overcooked & crunchy for my taste, was still excellant)
- stuffed risotto cakes - W O W - perfect amount of cheese, meat & risotto. 4 balls swimming in a rich red sauce
- red sauce is incredible - just a hint of sweetness with the robust tomato sauce.
- had pizza - it's STL style (thin crust) but really different from most thin crusts. crispy yet still a little dough taste...really interesting. love it (and it's one of their specialties).

definitely going back again.

Met family there for a "reunion dinner" so we had a large group but we were served without a hiccup!!! The Sicilian Salad -a great choice and pizza like I grew up and remember!

My husband grew up with Farotto's pizza. We stopped for lunch and were not disappointed. The crust was thin and crisp, the toppings did not overwhelm the crust. The special provel cheese gives it that St. Louis flavor. The restaurant itself has been nicely updated. It is bright and comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. A great pizza. I highly recommend trying a St. Louis pizza here.

Farotto's on Manchester is a great place for a Friday night get together. A friend all the way from Texas recommended the pizza. We stopped in with a group of six around 6:30 PM and the place was jumping at the bar and the tables full. The bartender was friendly and in no time we had frosted beer glasses and delicious mixed drinks. Our waitress, Mary was a pro for she made recommendations and was quick to tell us about delays that may occur if we waited. Toasted ravioli was smaller than usual but it was packed with meat and the flavor the best they proved a good size portion --- I think it is the best we have had is St. Louis. The pistachio salmon was very good and the cannelloni as good as on the Hill. Our friends had pizza and it was hard to get a piece from them---so good they only shared one little piece :(.

Three of us went there for lunch...our lunches tend to 'stretch out' because we don't see each other that often and 'visiting' is a part of it. At no time did we feel like we were being 'rushed' like happens some places that are after 'turnover'. (If a place is full with people waiting, we cut our visiting short, but they weren't full that day). The Friday special was fish and chips, and the cod was battered and cooked perfectly...and the portion was quite generous. One person ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer as an entree. When she tried it, she mentioned that it was not hot, and asked the server if they could take it back and heat it a bit. Instead, they prepared another order, which was hot when it arrived. All of the employees we encountered were quite pleasant and cheerful. It was a blustery, cold day and the rooms would have benefited from a couple more degrees of heat. To sum it up...excellent food and service! We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, tasty lunch. They do have a bar area, too.
