We had our tour on a hot July day and was informed that 60% of the tour is walking/outside. (There was the option of golf cart for some of the transportation.) As we waited for the tour to begin we were offered complementary water, coffee and popcorn(!)
We opted to purchase an (alcoholic) cherry limeade made with the distillery's own liquor. It was delicious and refreshing. We boarded a bus with Burrell as our guide. He did an excellent job, thoroughly explaining the history of the distillery and answering questions. We had the bonus history lesson about the founder and the Pony Express from a Holladay executive who happened to be joining our group that day. The cave was refreshingly cool and informative. We toured where the grains are processed and try White Dog. We got to try tossing coins into the cistern to try our hand at winning a coozy. I finally learned the difference between whisky and bourbon! It was a hot, hot day, but the experience was still amazing. The tasting at the end is tricky...you might end up purchasing everything you try!
Wow, we loved this place! Gorgeous land, like a scene from a movie driving up. Beautiful facility with excellent drinks. We loved the Irish liquor. We enjoyed sitting in the patio with our drink and looking at the beautiful land. They also offer tours. Plenty of merchandise to choose from. Must stop if in Weston!
Great to see a distillery with lots of history making Whiskey again. As a bit of a Bourbon nut, I look forward to having a dram. The only knock on the tour tho is not being allowed to take photos inside. No trade secrets can be revealed by looking at a still or a rick house!
We took our family of 20 on a tour. Our guide Alec was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour was fun, informative and it's absolutely beautiful there. You get 2 samples at the end which were yummy! Even my teenage son had a great time.
The tour here is a lot of fun and well worth the time and money! Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He explained in great detail both the present-day operation and the historical aspects of the entire distilling process and operation. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
It was just two of us. We toured with two more couples. I could tell that everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. Our tour guide was a young man by the name of Alec, and he was very knowledgeable and did a great job. Plus, all the staff were extremely friendly. You can tell they take pride in their work and business.
