“Perfect cottage”
Reviewed 15 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Fantastic cosy and comfortable cottage for two and plus wee dog. Everything we needed for a winter long weekend. Appreciated the wine, milk and bread left for us. Plenty to do in the area or put on the wood stove and relax and be cosy as it snows out side. We recommend the Crown for dinner, easy walking distance from the cottage and fab food. Bracken definitely give this cottage fuzzy paw approval for small dog height windows he could see out of

“Great little place”
Reviewed 21 October 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This is a charming cottage both small and cosy. It is very comfortable and has everything two people might need. There is parking for one car and a small front garden which is open at the front so could be of concern to some dog owners. Ours doesn’t roam so wasn’t a worry to us. There was a nice welcome pack which included a bottle of wine which we enjoyed on arrival!
There is some of the most beautiful and spectacular countryside around here. We got to Hadrian’s Wall, the beaches of the north east coast at Tynemouth and Amble as well as the famous Beamish Museum. North Yorkshire is also within easy reach as is Cumbria although we didn’t visit the latter. Next time perhaps!
The weather wasn’t good but didn’t stop us from doing all we wanted. There is a good pub serving food just a few minutes walk from the property.
Perfect for a couple we thought.
