We will recollect the peaceful ambience of Pian di Cascina as one of Italy's 'special 'places. A home from home comfort with all the convenience of interesting towns and cities to warm the heart as only Italy can.
The excellent swimming pool leisure area provided a welcome break from the many excursiooons available
Paul and Isabel were wonderful hosts . How they cope with fulfilling all the needs of their guests is a lesson in multitasking indeed, but served to make one feel as comfortable and welcome as you could wish.
Why try to find something better when Pian di Cascina ticks all the boxes, How we will remember the sunset over the peaceful valley and the welcome presence of freshly baked bread or croissants in the morning,
Isabel's wonderful quisine and knowledge of ALL the ingredients would put Raymond Blanc to the test. Definitely one to consider and definitely one for a return visit

We were married with the excellent help of Pian Di Casina. Their villas were excellent at providing a space for all our family and guests. (Fits up to 30) The villa also has an in house restaurant that was perfect for our rehersal dinner. Isabel & Paul made the week long stay excellent; from providing dinner upon our arrival, stocking our rooms with meal items so we didn't need to find an open store on a Sunday, and each villa comes with a "tour" book for the area. Excellent in plannign day trips. All we did was show up and start enjoying ourselves.
Isabel took care of all the wedding details and the day was just as we hoped for. Everyone who was there for the week are already planning a return trip.
Thanks Pian Di Casina!

We were part of a 'wedding package' and we found the whole experience very 'fairytale'! A lot of thought and preparation had obviously gone into the planning, and it all went very smoothly. The apartments were very clean and comfortable and the location is ideal for exploring. We are actually hoping to return one day to really appreciate the surroundings.

Pian Di Cascina was booked as a relaxing breakaway and surpassed all expectations. The location of the property and the high quality service made our first Umbrian experience one to remember. The thoughtful extras of pastries in the morning to a carefully selected basket of delicious local produce aided our relaxation. Isabel and Paul were truly welcoming and fantastic hosts and went the extra mile to ensure that we had the break we were looking for. We cannot wait to return next year with the children.

This trip was for our daughters Italian wedding. Isabelle and Paul made us all very comfortable in their lovely home, organised every detail just as our daughter had wished and everything went beautifully! The happy couple will be returning to this special place for years to come, no doubt accompanied by various members of the family. Whether you have a special occasion, want a quiet break or a sightseeing holiday in an area steeped in history, then Pian di Cascina is an ideal place to stay.

The property is a group of attached but separate houses on top of a hill in between Perugia and Gubbio. We stayed in the largest, a four bedroom property that had en suites facilities for three of the four rooms. All the other guests were quiet, so there was no real problem with the the close proximity.

There is a large shared pool down hill from where the houses are sited, and this is again in a beautiful location, with sun loungers and shade for those who need it. We had an elderly relative with us, and she found the climb from the pool back to the house quiet strenuous. On the same level of the houses is a small playing field with playground equipment and a table tennis table.

There was a large kitchen on the ground floor. It has all the basics, but as a keen cook I found it wasn't that well equipped for any serious cooking. We found the downstairs areas quite poorly lit making the lounge and kitchen hard to use. Outside there was large plastic table and chairs provided for outdoor entertaining. There is access to a wi-fi connection.

The nearest village is about 3 miles away, and if I had one small quibble with the location it would its isolation. The final half mile of track from the B road up to the house is unmade and quite badly rutted in parts. There are no real restaurants in the immediate area, requiring a 20+ mile drive into Perugia or Gubbio for a dinner out.

The views from the house are stunning. You can see all the way across the valley towards Gubbio. The owners are very welcoming, and they stage dinners on Friday and Sunday evenings at a separate dining hall.

We would like to add the following corrections to the information supplied in this review:
The nearest village is Carbonesca which is 1.5km (less than 1 mile) from the villa - and is accessible on foot by the way of a footpath as well as the main road –
There are also several good to excellent local restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the villa, in Casa Castalda (Locanda Aquasanta), Valfabbrica (Villa dei Sapori) and Carbonesca (sant Angelo).

We spent 2 weeks here. We felt the deep sense of relaxation that came with the beautiful environment, rural idyll within hours of arriving. The pool was great. The apartment was clean with everything we needed. The children - aged 6 and 8 years had a great time on the field, exploring the wildlife, meeting the other families and relaxing. We were spoiled for fabulous places to visit within 45 minutes of the property with both stunning mountains and amazing towns. Paul and Isabel were extremely helpful both with things around the apartments and with information about places to visit and the best way to get the most out of the local environment. The on site Taverna 2 nights a week was a fabulous added bonus - amazing food and great atmosphere to be highly recommended.

The unmade road up to the property was a bit of a challenge in a very small hire care fully loaded with cases but we soon got used to it. If you are thinking of coming here I would definitely encourage you - you are unlikely to regret it!
