As near neighbours of this public house we were thrilled to see that it was reopening as a specialised restaurant. We invited some close 'foodie' friends to accompany us on a Saturday evening a week after the opening and visited with anticipation. We were disappointed at first view to see that the 'pub' had not really changed - but noticed that the restaurant area had had a make over and it looked nice. The menu was appealing and we ordered our meal. We were pleased that we had booked and could actually eat in the restaurant as we would not have liked to eat such a special meal in the bar area. We thoroughly enjoyed the food , it was beautifully cooked and well presented, there was plenty of it and lots of freshly cooked veggies. Our friends were disappointed as they had requested specific dietary requirements and these were not totally met leaving them with only one of the three vegetables. They were offered an alternative to the potato however, Had this review been just about the food I would have given it five stars as the food was lovely , our friends perhaps would have given it four stars - but we were disappointed by just two things - for whatever reason we did not feel very welcomed by the staff and the music was just too loud for the restaurant but we asked for it to be turned down and it was - but it was early days and we will try the restaurant again.
