“Great location and skiing”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom lodges right on the mountain, near the main lodge. Great location, great snow and fantastic time had by all. We will be back again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing directly to the ski lifts in the front row, and up near the lodge.

Beautiful amenities at moonlight and barely anyone there. Great place for a family or a romantic weekend.

It was our first time to Montana and boy were the views from Saddleridge absolutely gorgeous!! Slopes were awesome, people were extremely friendly, school instructor "Scott" was sweet and funny, and the food was great! Thank you Montana for being so good to us.

Loved our 1st stay at Big Sky. Beautifully furnished 3 bdrm + loft rental home just a short walk from the resort. The staff throughout Moonlight Basin, from front desk, snowboard rental, snowboard instructors, restaurant/bar and spa staff, were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and personable. Just a step inside the door and someone was welcoming you, asking about your stay so far, making suggestions, etc. I have not see such customer service is quite a long time and it made an impression! Special shout out to "JT" who worked determinedly (is that a word?) to not only fix our furnace our first night there, but also was a wealth of knowledge of what to see and do throughout our stay. Beautiful weather, great friends and a wonderful time. We'll be back.

Room Tip: We had Happy Trails #9. Wasn't ski out, but close to resort.

Best place in Montana for snowboarding (well in my opion, haha). We haven't stayed on the mountain so I can't comment on the lodging. We really enjoy Bozeman so we always stay in town during our ski trips. They have two lodges, one is nothing special and the other one is really nice. Food is pretty normal for a resort (decent / expensive). The nice thing is if you arrive early enough you can park close to the lodges and grab food, drinks, extra clothing, and etc. You ussually can't do this at Big Sky, although Big Sky is also great but much more expensive for same quality of terrain just more quantity. Lift lines are non-existent or small compared to Big Sky and Bridger.

I stayed in the cowboy cabins and thought they were breathtakingly beautiful. Private, spacious, and peaceful. I loved our private hut tub and the ski in ski out made it worth the price.

The spa at moonlight basin is not good. It is organized like a 3 year old designed it. If you want to go on the treadmill you are running right in the gift shop. And to go to the pool you walk down a hallway through reception etc...

This Christmas will be our third staying and skiing at Moonlight Basin/Big Sky, and we could not be happier with our choice. We've spent many years skiing around the world, from Zermatt, Verbier, St Anton, Megeve, St Moritz, Wengen/Grindelwald to Aspen, Vail, Jackson Hole, Sun ValleySquaw Valley, Killington, Deer Valley, Snowbird, Alta, etc. etc. We've finally found ski heaven in Montana. Terrific skiing for all levels, from beginners to world class experts, and with no lift lines, terrific instructors, wonderful snow (and grooming for those of us who like our corduroy) and miles and miles of trails...

Room Tip: Options are available at Moonlight Basin for every pocketbook, from basic cabins to ultra-luxurious...
