Averill's Flathead Lake Lodge

Flathead Lake Lodge is the perfect place for an exciting, yet relaxing family vacation. We just had our whole "gang" gather there for a week…grandparents, kids, and grandchildren... ages were 4 to 70 with several teenagers. Without exception, everyone said it was their "best vacation." From the horses and trail rides, the kids rodeo, the water sports on the lake, food, to welcoming wranglers and staff, Flathead Lake Lodge is a place where you can just feel free to relax and enjoy and not worry whether or not everyone is having a great time. You can see from the smiles and laughter that they are! This was our third vacation there. Looking forward to going back.

Our family just returned from the most wonderful stay at Flathead Lake Lodge. This place is nothing short of perfection. The staff and owner made us feel like family, which set such a nice tone for the week. There is so much to do for children and adults of all ages; we loved being able to let our children run free for the day with their new friends. It's truly a magical place where families can reconnect and just "be together". The setting is relaxing, safe and beautiful. The food was outstanding; where each meal topped the meal before. It would be too hard to choose a favorite memory between the Steak Fry, Trail Rides, Barn Dance, Mouse Races, Children's Rodeo, Team Penning, Roping, Breakfast Ride, Sailing, Sunset Boat Cruise......or just relaxing on a bench watching life go by. We will be back again next year!

Although rated as a family place, this is a great place for couples as well. These guys have figured out how to perfectly separate your children from you in a safe and fun environment. It truly lets kids have freedom and affords the adults time to relax and enjoy....we loved it as a family and a couple and will be returning!

Room Tip: Just make sure you have enough bathrooms for your family but you wont be spending any time in this r...

I first came to the Lodge as a child and have since returned with my own children. If you want to make lasting family memories, this is the place! I have never vacationed anywhere that has made such a impact on my life. The owners and staff at Flathead are top notch. The food accommodation and amenities can't be beat. What makes this dude ranch even more special than the others is that it sits on the stunning Flathead Lake so you can have the dude ranch experience and the Lake resort experience. I have never felt like my kids were safer than when they were at the Lodge. We have made friends here that will last a lifetime.

Room Tip: Try to stay in a cabin if you can!

This is a great family vacation but the accommodations left a little to be desired. There were a ton of activities for both kids and adults and the food was amazing. However I had a hard time spending the money we did to stay in a cabin with no air conditioning (it was over 90 degrees during the day and well over 80 in the cabin when we tried to go to sleep at night) and a very very small bathroom for all 5 of us to use.

Were there for a wedding the last weekend in September. The prior weekend, it was in the 80's. The weather when we were there, a little less cooperative. But, at least the rain held off! It was even gloomier the next day when we drove up to Glacier Park. Could not get through road as it was closed due to snow.

Food was very good. The help was very pleasant and agreeable. Horses were well behaved. Beds were comfy.

All around, a wonderful time!

Room Tip: Choose cabin # 11...it's the only one that allows a view of the lake. The others's views ar...

enjoyed a lunch buffet and great opportunities for photography at this historic montana ranch. Very peaceful with a wide variety of things to do. All the staff were willing to bend over backwards to assist in making any request happen. Very beautiful cabins and main lodge.
