“Wonderful setting near Flathead Lake”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

This was a real find after driving along the picturesque Hwy 35 on the east shore of the lake surrounded by cherry orchards. Friendly welcome. Sat by the pool on a hot evening & ordered a pizza to be delivered from the village, while watching the sun set over the tree tops. Rooms large & comfortable. Beds great. Only comment is that shower was a little difficult to operate & b'fast a little spartan, but a great find in a lovely setting. Would recommend.

Room Tip: No lift to second floor

Stayed with the family over the July 4th long weekend. Pleased with the room. It was clean, cool and presently quiet given the number of people staying there. The lady that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The rooms are basic rooms and the motel is older, but well maintained. The pool was very refreshing given the heat we had. For the money I would recommend this as it was far more affordable than the other options in Bigfork.

This hotel was located right in beautiful Bigfork. A friend and I were visiting there for a wedding. The staff was friendly and accommodating - giving us assistance with directions and maps. They had a clean, heated pool and hot tub. It was located five minutes away from the roaring Swan River and the more upscale historic downtown. The room was spacious, with two queen-size beds, small fridge and microwave....way cheaper than the hotels 1/4 mile away - perfectly adequate.

OK the decor was perhaps a little tired, but the room was a good size and clean, the beds were comfortable, we had everything we needed and the receptionist (Zac?) was very welcoming and helpful. BigFork itself proved to be probably the nicest place on the lake and it was an easy car journey to Glacier Park. .

Most of the places to stay in Bigfork, MT, are incredibly expensive. The Timbers was the least expensive we found, so we went for it. What can I say? It is an average motel at an average price for a very expensive tourist town. The room was large and servicable but nothing fantastic. The beds are hard as a rock. If you like a very firm mattress, you will be set! We stayed after the summer season so the pool and hot tub were already closed down for the season, which was a bit of a disappointment.

The continental breakfast truly is a continental, with just bagels, mini muffins, toast, cereal and eggo waffles you can toast. Orange juice, coffee and milk. As long as you aren't expecting a big breakfast, it is enough to get you by, but I suggest going into town to the Pocketstone Cafe for a big, yummy breakfast.

All in all it was an okay place to stay and didn't break the bank. The staff was very friendly!

Thank you for your review. Bigfork is a beautiful place, and therefore it is a popular destination with some high prices during peak seasons. We strive to be more than average, by exceeding guest expectations in both service and value. Your comments show that we have some room for improvement in some areas. We will make those improvements and hope to have another opportunity to exceed your expectations the next time you visit Bigfork.

They really need to address the fluctuating hot water issue. It's a bit scary to have shower water flashing between very hot and cold and back again. Otherwise, our stay wasn't too bad. My wife spent a long time in the pool as the outside temperature was in the high 90s. The air conditioning in the room worked well, and the place was quiet, being a little up off the road. I want to thank the front desk guy for making sure our room was ready a bit early so we could park our stuff before leaving for the day, and also for chipping in with excellent advice when he heard we were going to Glacier Park that day. He started with "if it were me, I'd go counterclockwise around Highway 2 thru East Glacier, then to St. Mary's", which was great advice, a very beautiful scenic route thru the Continental Divide, past some pretty lakes and mountains on the way to the Going-to-the-Sun highway, and the excesses of West Glacier didn't sour us on the rest of the trip. I also heard him patiently explaining to another customer about a short-cut to downtown, which sounded useful. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is nice to see that a member of our team was recognized for providing great service. We have always believed that good people are the cornerstone of every motel. We are taking steps to address the water fluctuation issue once and for all. We have had many experts try various fixes, but we think we may have finally found a solution which we will be installing this winter. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review. Please come back and see us again soon.

We stayed here to attend the Big Fork Summer Playhouse on August 10th. The room was large. The beds and bedding could really use an upgrade. The continental breakfast area was pretty messy - newspapers all over the two tables - crumbs, too. Our room rate was $159 and I felt that was pretty steep for what you get. I realize this is a resort area which accounts for the price but the owners should really consider a major facelift.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for us. You touched on two of the areas we will be addressing this winter-bedding and breakfast. These should be much improved for next summer. Unfortunately, as a small family-owned seasonal business, a "major facelift" is not in the budget. This winter we hope to improve our already large rooms and breakfast offering, and will continue to monitor guest feedback for future improvement possibilities. Thanks again for your review, and please visit us again in the future.
