very tiny rooms, low to the floor beds with no mattress pads, black stained carpeting, filthy doors, spills running down doors, shower stall only with soap scum build up and black floor. Never did turn the tv on so not sure if it worked or not. Parking is impossible, narrow drive, this motel is everything you would expect for a 25-30$ a night dive. Sadly, I picked a weekend with a rodeo, teachers convention AND tournaments which in Billings means jacked up rates AND every hotel in the city at capacity. I wont make either of these 2 mistakes again!

Room Tip: there is no good room, go somewhere else

I stayed here Sept. 19, 20 and part of 21, 2012. First, as you may figure out from reading the reviews, I should point out that there are TWO Motel 6's, with one almost directly across the street from the other. One is at 5353 Midlands Rd. That is the one where the Wi-Fi is included in the room rate. It is on the north side of the street. The other one is on the south side of the street at 5400 Midlands Rd which is the one I stayed in and the Wi-Fi is an extra $2.99 for 24 Hours. The staff would answer any question asked but not in a friendly tone of voice and generally was not friendly. The room, 203, has a bed, a sink, a toilet, a shower and a heater/ac unit. I get cold when the temperature gets below 82F. I turned the heater on - low heat button and medium setting. I felt some heat coming out and thought it would be about right. A short time later I felt cold and sure enough it was putting out nothing but cold air. I had to put it on High Heat button and High setting for it to keep putting out heat. A short time later, I had a cold, or the flu, runny nose and all. It does not have a coffee pot, microwave or a refrigerator. The front desk only serves coffee in the morning, not all day as a lot of other hotels do. The walls are thin. Room 203 faces the Intertate Highway. Sleep is impossible anytime during the day. The curtains do not fully cover the window so a lot of light comes in. There wasn't much difference between having the light on and having it off. Room 203 is on the second floor, West side of the building, and just one away from being over the office. Here the room is excessively noisy as all the delivery trucks park just below and leave the engine running while making deliveries. Add to all that, you hear every vehicle that drives past on the Interstate. If you do not need to sleep until about 10:30 or 11:00 PM, don't want coffee until you get dressed and go to the office in the morning, don't need to keep anything cold and only want to stay one night, maybe this hotel would be OK. Maybe it would be better on the East side of the building? I had to go to sleep the morning of the third day I was staying and that was impossible. I finally had to check out at about 4:00 PM and start driving to my next destination. The staff did not even bother to ask how my stay was or why I was checking out at that time since I was paid up until the next day. You may want to stay here but I will never stay here again. I would rather pay a little more to have a refrigerator and either a microwave or a coffe pot, friendly staff, a heater that works in all settings and a room I can sleep in during the day if need be.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel. Maybe the other Motel 6. If you have to stay here, only accept a room on t...

When I arrived, I was told they couldn't process a third party payment for the room. I mentioned that the Motel 6s I had stayed at the previous 2 nights were more than happy to do so. I was told that wasn't the case this time. The clerk was apologetic though, and did offer me a discount on the room, which was appreciated. It became obvious, rather quickly, that the regular hotel cleaning staff was either on strike, had all quit, or had all called out, because the clerk was signing time cards and verifying future schedules for temporary workers while she checked me in. That didn't bother me; she was very busy and it seemed like an incredibly hectic afternoon. The room, while in the style of the newly remodeled Motel 6s, had paper thin walls and a paper thin ceiling. The hallway sound was also barely muffled by the door. The room also had an unfortunate odor to it, as if the temporary cleaning staff hadn't rinsed cleaning solvent off of a surface properly. Still....I was willing to forgive these missteps, but then my fiance- who called my room a total of 3 times over the course of the evening- told me that the clerk was being difficult when she called and actually sighed the third time she had to put the call through. That is really bad form. How hard is it to put a call through to a room? Apparently it approaches being too difficult for the clerk working the night of my stay.

Room Tip: Lower your expectations accordingly....especially if it's a busy night.

Stayed last night. Didn't get the best sleep. Walls and floors are paper thin----- heard everything that other guests were doing and saying in their adjacent rooms and outside. Rooms were clean. Looked like the bathroom in rm 108 had been refinished, but the water pressure sucked. I could pee faster than the shower and sink tap. Upon check-in, the staff was moderately friendly. The man, who appeared to be the owner/manager was short and curt in his communication. In the morning, they offer coffee. I nearly walked in thru the wrong door to get coffee and the same man at check-in was again very curt in his direction to me to enter thru the lobby door and not the one I was about to, to grab a coffee.

Considering this motel is right around 40 bucks cheaper than anywhere else in Billings, not bad. I was a little hesitant after reading all the bad reviews, but c'mon. Sure you have to pay three bucks for wifi, but my room was clean, Leanne at the front desk was polite with a line of folks in front of her, and you can take your extra 40 bucks and enjoy bfast down the street and come out on top.

I'm writing about the Motel 6 at 5353 Midland Rd. Right across the street.

Baaaaaad place. I mean, you should get the hint when the Motel 6 is next door to an adult store and across the street from a bar and casino. The room was TINY. No fridge or microwave. Charges $3 for wi-fi. Yuck.
