“Badly designed for sleep”
Reviewed 15 September 2008

A new hotel, so everything is clean. HOWEVER, the air conditioning and heating ducts run right next to the beds, so every time they turn on they are LOUD. Ear plugs will not save you. My husband gave up and slept in the car just to get a few hours of sleep. It needs a major re-engineering. Why have a hotel where you can't sleep?

This is our second stay at the Residence Inn. Both times we have had the family suite. At around $200/night you cannot get a better room. The kitchen is fully appointed - all you add is food. The bedrooms are lushly furnished with goose down comforters on the beds. We needed a roll away which was promptly delivered by the manager on staff. The roll away did not fold as others I have seen and was as comfortable as any regular bed. The TVs are state of the art LCD flatscreens (there are three TVs in the family suite.) The bathrooms were sterile clean, and the other amenities are first class.

The pool and hot tub are very appealing, and open out to a nice patio. Pass by the hotels right off the interstate and stay at the Residence Inn. You'll be glad you did - there are no surprises there.

We had 3 people in our party so booked the king bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room. We originally intended to only stay 1 night on our way to Yellowstone but decided to come back a day early from the park and stay 2 more nights at the Residence Inn. There is a good Mexican restaurant within walking distance and Olive Garden is a couple of minutes away. The hotel has a get together during the week in the evenings where they serve various finger foods and the full breakfasts in the morning are very good. We couldn't have asked for better service-Tessa at the front desk was very helpful to us. If our plans ever call for another visit to Billings, we will be sure to stay at the Residence Inn.

I love residence Inn. There were 3 of us family members and I booked the 2 bedroom plus sofa bed suite. We each had our own bed and some privacy and the two bathrooms were great. We stayed 3 days. It is comfortable. One bedroom has a desk for computer and internet stuff as the business person will love. The staff was great and responded quickly to our problems or questions. The ice maker seemed kind of slow. The AC worked great maybe too great as I froze my sister at night. But I will be back to this place.

  • Liked — It is clean, roomy, has everything a person needed while traveling
  • Disliked — It is a little hard to find of interstate 90 as it is tucked behind a Home Depot. So you can't see it right away.

I was just in Billings, MT for a business meeting, and took a few extra days to relax as well. My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn on the referral from a friend. It was great! After the 8.5 hour drive from Calgary, AB, we were quite pleased to find that the pool and hot tub were open until 11:00pm, as we arrived at about 9:45.

Our room, a King suite, was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen that would make this a great place for a long business stay.

The breakfast buffet that was included was also a lovely surprise! There was everything you could want from cereal and yogurt to danishes and make-your-own waffles. A great way to start the day!

The hotel was located off the main strip, making it quiet, but was close enough to 24th ave to make dinning and shopping very convenient.

I will definitely return to stay at the Residence Inn on my next trip to Billings!

This is a relatively new Residence Inn. The room I had was very clean, well decorated and was truly one of the more “at home” type of Residence Inns I have ever stayed at in the past. My room was a combo bedroom, living room and kitchen all together. The kitchen had a dishwasher, two burner flat surfaced stove, a microwave, large refrigerator and all the cooking equipment and utensils. The bathroom was decorated very nicely and well stocked.

The pool, spa and exercise rooms were clean and well maintained. The treadmills and bikes in the exercise room each had their own flat screen TV for viewing. The exercise room also had a nice weight machine.

The lobby is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served every day and is a hot meal with rotating menu. They usually have eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, canned fruits pastries, breads, juices, yogurts, and etc. There is an evening meal or light food affair served on about three to four weeknights. They have a BBQ night, Soup and Salad night, and hors d'oeuvres night. Each night they serve soft drinks, beer and wine. One draw back… the eating area is not big enough and becomes very crowded at the nightly gathering. However, you can seat yourself just inside the lobby and at a separate lobby dinning area or wait about a half hour after the meal starts and come down. You will enjoy your stay here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in Billings one night on our way to Yellowstone. This is a new property and our room and the overall property were very nice. The room was very comfortable and attractive (if you can live with the cowboy theme). The property has an nice indoor pool and fitness area. The free internet worked well. The breakfast was typical of residence Inns but was in an attractive setting and the staff were pleasant.

As previously noted, this was a new property. It may or may not age well.

We were just passing through Billings and I don't know what would be a good location for an extended stay. We were close to the interstate at the edge of an office/industrial park. I don't think anything desirable was within walking distance.
