We had a very pleasant walking tour of downtown Bozemanm Mt. We intended to take the guided tour, but unfortunately, it was cancelled the day we were there. But the people at the Pioneer Museum were very helpful and gave us a map with all the local landmarks. We walked along Main Street, and because it was self-guided, we were able to stop for lunch, do a little shopping and talk to the very friendly local people. There were a surprising amount of historic buildings to see, and the walk was easy and flat.

Downtown Bozeman is attractive, interesting, mostly friendly, and there is lots to explore. It is definitely worth taking an afternoon or morning and walking Main Street. There are all kinds of shop windows to look at, stores and galleries to go into and places to find lunch or coffee and dessert. The overall friendliness of Bozeman comes through during these stop and you are sure to find something you can't live without.

This is a great town. It is so clean with beautiful shops and restaurants. Bozeman also has a lot of thrift shops-love it. We were there on the second Friday and enjoyed the Art Walk. Stores were open and had wine and cheese. Everyone was so friendly. I love this town.

Easy walk around town, Lots of small shops and artist galleries. Don't expect any real bargains though.

There are 2 independent bookstores within a block or two from each other. One of them features jazz recordings and black-and-white post cards of musicians; their books in this particular store are mostly used. The second book store features freshly printed books, including a huge children's section. However, I didn't find anything I wanted to read because neither bookstore carries the Romance genre AT ALL. The restaurants located in downtown Bozeman seem to be fairly pricey and not too kid-friendly. There are two chocolate shops in downtown Bozeman; one with super-expensive, liquor filled chocolates meant for adult pallets, and another candy store that is much more accommodating towards the more youthful tastes.
