“Nice quiet hotel”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

I just got back from staying at this hotel for a few days. Nice and quiet location (then again, just about everywhere in montana is quiet) Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Free simple breakfast and a Bar/Restaurant just next door.

My only complaint is that the televisions could use some upgrading.

Highly recommended if staying in the area.

This is a very nicely laid out hotel, well maintained. It is not in "town" but a couple of miles from the edge of developed Bozeman. What I like about its location was that it was about a mile from the Cherry River Fishing Access, which is a nice short trail system in the marsh and grass surrounding the edge of the Cherry River. Very nice for birdwatching when I was there.

The rooms are comfortably large, with all the expected amenities, except the TV is not flat screen, if that matters to you. Wifi worked fine. Carpets, if not new, in very good condition. Minor paint chips on the walls. Most of the room access is through the main lobby doors, feeding into a room corridor on the lower level and an interior stairway and corridors for the upper level. The hotel did not appear to be very occupied when I was there.

Breakfast was adequate. The usual hotel fare, with make-your-own waffles, hard boiled eggs, sausage, cold cereal, toast, rolls, biscuits, etc.

I have two complaints though. First, they allow pets. There was a small dog next door. The dog was barking every few minutes after 10 pm. I contacted the desk. They went to the room, but the owner was absent, left his dog alone. So they gave me a discount on my room. That was fair, but I'm in the camp of no pets in hotels. Second, there is some railroad noise. The tracks are close. I heard trains as late as 11:45 pm and as early as 6 am. If you are a very light sleeper, that might matter. Other than the dog and the trains, I did not hear any noise in the room.

Would I stay here again? Yes. Overall experience was good and so was the value.

Room Tip: Say in your comments that you don't want to be next to any rooms with pets.

We stopped at Bozeman on our way to Yellowstone, we called ahead to reserve a room, Laurie took our reservation and we asked if we could leave our truck and trailer while we rode our motorcycle around Yellowstone. She said no problem. As we drove into Bozeman the hotel is conviently located just off I-90. First impressions were great , you walk into the lobby and there is a big fireplace and the log beams were impressive. We went on our bike trip and arrived back in the pouring rain, we were soaked and cold. Laurie was on shift at the desk and made us a cup of hot chocolate and gave us warm towels to warm up.. Where else would you get this great of service?? There is a nice free breakfast offered every morning. The rooms are very clean, and everything is neat and tidy. Overall one of the best places were have stayed at, great rates as well. We recommend if you are staying in the area or passing through make this your stop.

Just stayed at MountainView for two nights and it was great. The breakfast has many healthy choices and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Great pool and large hot tub. The rate was very reasonable for what was offered. We'll be back!

Bozeman is such is a beautiful warm and friendly place that between the smiling faces, the cool shops and bustling downtown restaurants, you won't need much else -- except a comfortable place to lay your head. So go to the MountainView. For Bozeman, the price is right, the location convenient and the hospitality outstanding. Its more like a b&b than a travel lodge. You'll feel right at home. Laurie will take great care of you and you can see the mountains from your room!

This was the first time we stayed there and we were very pleased with the value. The room was clean, large, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located just off of the interstate freeway so access was very easy. We will stay there again.

I have stayed here several times, averaging one stay per month for the last three months. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I would much rather stay here than the Best Western I previously use to stay at.
