Best home made French fries and great food. Milk shakes to die for, they make the ice cream. Been in Butte your years, use to be a drive in and they would come out a wait on you. It is ran by the same family since it was open. Must Visit

Matt's started in the early '30s and made its own ice cream, it still does. The thickest malts, a real leaf of real lettuce on a real burger with fries with the bark on. Takes you back to the days before everything came ready made out of a machine. Not always open and does not sit many but it is the greatest. We drive 65 miles just to take our out of town guests there.

Loved the burger with egg. Wanted to get a shake but my waist line couldn't take the calories. I watched them make several shakes, real ice cream, milk & stir, wow.

Sit at the swivel seats at the counter, order your 'loaded' burger from the friendly waitress, and give in to the yearning for a milkshake or malt. Your shake is made by hand with homemade ice cream and served in an old fashioned tall glass with the extra in the ice cold tin on the side. This is not the time to think about calories, enjoy it to the last drop while you reminisce about your favorite diner/drugstore place when you were a kid(when you had to split that milkshake with a sibling, carefully measuring to make sure it's equally divided). Burgers come wrapped in paper to keep all the messy goodness contained to the last bite. Now slurp the last bit of that shake and declare this the best nostalgic meal of any vacation.
According to the Historic Places plaque outside, this was the first drive-in in Montana, back in 1930. A tasty bit of history!
