“Great Bed & Breakfast Near Glacier Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

We were very pleased with our stay for three nights at Moss Mountain Inn on our vacation stop for Glacier Park. The current owners, Hunter and Raven Moss, were extremely helpful with hiking and sightseeing options in and around the park. In addition, they provided us with some ideas for nightly dinners that met our needs and were of a high quality. Our room was on the third floor and included a comfortable bed and separate bathroom. The facility can handle four sets of visitors, so the interaction at breakfast is good. Our breakfast each morning was of the continental style - fruit, yogurt, coffee, rolls, etc. This is the only complaint as it was the same each morning and I would recommend at least one hot breakfast during a visit for guests as the owners provided in the past, after all it is advertised as a bed and breakfast facility. We picked up a cookbook that Raven had prepared and some of these dishes looked outstanding and wished we could have tried them. The ownership is changing at the end of August 2014 and we hope the new owners will continue the good work by Raven and Hunter. If you are planning a trip to Glacier Park, try staying in the woods about 30 minutes away from the West entrance to the park. This is a very good option for a comfortable visit to the park.

Thank you for your kind words. We would like to address the comments regarding our current breakfast offerings. We switched to a more simple buffet-style breakfast this summer for several reasons, primarily because many guests told us they preferred simpler, lighter fare served earlier in the a.m., but also because we knew we were selling the inn and we hoped to make the mid-season transition easier on the new owners and their guests. The new owners are Jayne, Troy and Cheryl Miller and they will undoubtedly be changing their breakfast offerings starting mid-August when they take over. We are excited for them and confident they will do a fabulous job. We will be working with them closely to make the transition go smoothly for everyone.

We also would like to thank the thousands of guests over our ten years here who have found us through Tripadvisor and made Moss Mountain Inn a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing place to stay while visiting Glacier National Park.

Moss Mountain is a lovely home in a lovely setting. However, for the price I was disappointed. Our room was tiny and hot. No AC and 85 degrees. Hunter Moss was very knowledgeable about Glacier NP and very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts included much variety of fresh fruits but nothing home-made except jam. Store-bought frozen pastries, boiled eggs, nothing whole grain except packaged oatmeal. Again, better than hotel food but I expect more from a B and B.

This B&B is very special. The location with respect to the western entrance to Glacier National Park was perfect. The hosts, Hunter and Raven Moss, were terrific. They helped us in every way and prepared wonderful breakfasts; my wife even purchased Raven's cookbook. The wild animals and birds were very enjoyable and picturesque. I highly recommend staying with them.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Moss Mountain Inn during mid-September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable, the setting was very quiet and only 10 minutes from the West Glacier Entrance to the park. Although we enjoyed the venue, we were most impressed by Hunter and Debi, the owners and hosts at the Inn. They were very helpful guiding us to hikes and attractions in the park, and restaurants for dinner in the evening. They have great energy and were a joy to visit with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and give Moss Mountain Inn our highest recommendation.

This off-the beaten track (not by much, but it offers both privacy and easy access to GNP) B&B is one of the nicest we have stayed in. It is in a lovely setting, the accommodations are splendid, and the hosts are gracious and helpful. We would certainly return if we were in that area again, and I recommend it to all.

We stayed for three nights at the Moss Mountain bed and breakfast. The Austrian style building is set in beautiful gardens and Hunter and Debi were the perfect hosts. The private balcony gave us an outstanding view and from the sun room you could watch hummingbirds feed. We were given excellent advise on which trails to walk and where to eat.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in the Quaking Aspens room and we had an excellent experience. We were looking for something quiet, away from the busy areas of major tourist hotels in Glacier and nearby towns and Moss Mountain Inn really delivered for us. The private balcony in the room had a great view of the woods, and was so nice to relax on after a day hiking in Glacier National Park.

The Inn itself is very close to the park, about 15 minutes drive through backroads to get to the West Glacier park gates (Debi helpfully has written down directions to and from the park). We did drive to the East Glacier park gate one day which was about a one hour drive. It was easy for us to get up early for breakfast at 7 and be in the park early enough to beat most of the tourists. Breakfast was filling for day hiking (yogurt, fruit, granola etc). There is also a fridge guests can use to store food/drinks.

Hunter and Debi are great hosts and really have the right mix of being helpfully available but also allowing you your privacy if that's what you prefer. They provide bear spray to sign out for hiking in the park and Hunter gave us great ideas for day hikes as well as local restaurant suggestions.

Overall, a very welcoming atmosphere and hopefully when we have a chance to return to hike more of Glacier we will definitely stay at Moss Mountain Inn.
