What a wonderful experience! Our three nights at "Smoky Bear Ranch" were completely enjoyable. We elected to stay out of the "touristy" lodging facilities and this B&B exceeded our expectations in every way. "Smoky", the 150 lb Newfoundland "puppy" greated us. Our host welcomed us by telling us about the area surronding the ranch and also issued us "Bear Spray" for use if needed.

Staying at "Smoky Bear Ranch" greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the entire Glacier National Park experience. Give these folks a chance and you'll be totally satisfied with the experience.

We round the cabin to be spotless and beautiful but the owners had a terrible personality for running a B&B. When my son asked him about the internet signal being weak his response was the computer was a piece of crap and he should buy a new one. At the end of the week they charged us more accusing us of not using the tipi and the price is higher if we all stayed in the house. We did in fact use the tipi...we just put the sleeping bags in the car during the day because we were afraid of rodents and bugs getting in them. WOW! Nothing like being called liars who own crappy computers! Great way to make sure they don't get repeat service OR referrals!!!!

We stayed at the Smoky Bear Ranch B&B for four nights in September 2008, and were very disappointed. This B&B could be a great place: the location is outstanding (not too far away from the National Park entrance at West Glacier, but secluded from the railroad). However the rooms in the main building are in need of renovation. In addition, there were a series of inconveniences that turned us off: the owners would make noise in the early morning or the evening (they share the building, so if you are not on their schedule, you will suffer), the breakfast meals were greasy, we had to pay extra to get some shampoo, they complained we were interrupting their lunch when we asked to pick up sandwiches, etc. This B&B could turn into a great place if only the owners were willing to better accommodate their guests' needs and tastes. I guess the positive reviews of this B&B come from visitors who can accept to live on the agenda of their hosts. But for us, we cannot. And at this price, we should not have to. Hopefully, the B&B owners will improve over time, and leverage the full potential of their property.

My family of four spent five nights at Smoky Bear Ranch while we toured Glacier National Park. We stayed in the Apgar Suite upstairs, which has two beds and some extra room, perfect for our family. Scott & Nancy were friendly and helpful in planning park visits. Breakfast was fantastic every morning, and evenings spent on the front porch enjoying the forest scenery was wonderful. Highly recommend this B&B.

We stayed 2 nights at Smoky Bear Ranch and had a wonderful experience. Our host/hostess were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The accomodations were super clean, charming and comfortable-the homemade furniture and quilts made it so cozy. The breakfasts we had both days were fantastic gourmet delights and very filling. We even got to see a bear out our window the first afternoon we were there, which was very exciting! We also enjoyed getting to know the others staying there and found having breakfast together at the same big table a real treat and easy way to get to know one another. What a wonderful spot to spend a few quiet days with nature in such a great homey setting!

My family stayed at the Smoky Bear Inn during July 2004. The inn was spotless and cozy. Lots of the furniture and all of the quilts were made by the owners, Nancy and Scott. They were so helpful with suggestions about the area. The food was delicious. They also have other accomodations on the property including a tipi. Check their website at --------------------
