Bad Rock Bed and Breakfast
Certificate of Excellence

Just returned from two days at Glacier and Bad Rock B&B. Exceptional hospitality and great accommodations! Mark is very knowledgeable about the park. I would definitely recommend a stay. We stayed in the main house and found the experience wonderful.

I understand the few reviews on TA about it not being "5 star" in the sense that it was not fancy. To this I say that the accommodations are very comfortable and the hosts are exceptionally welcoming. So, I think it is worthy of a 5 star rating.

We stayed in the Swan Mountain cabin for 3 nights at the end of August and highly recommend Bad Rock if you don't need to stay in the park. The owner, Mark, is very helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to tips about Glacier. The "bible" they give to every room is a HUGE help. The breakfasts at Bad Rock were wonderful; they're served at 8:30 prompt each day and over by 9. Highly recommend immediately heading to the park after that to avoid crowds. Our cabin was great... it has two floors. We had our two boys sleep on the first floor (one on the pullout the other on a rollaway bed) and we slept in the king bed on the 2nd floor. The place was VERY well-stocked with tea, coffee, Advil, Advil PM (thanks for this Mark!!), etc. There is a rec room which the kids enjoyed (pool table, air hockey) and laundry in that building which we used. We ate at The Back Room at the Nite Owl in Columbia Falls both nights (one night was takeout) which was good. Very inexpensive. And we finally know what fry bread is!! It's only a 20-25 minute drive to the west entrance of the park...really not that far. Preferable to staying in the park. We did have a beer on the patio of the Lake MacDonald lodge one night before heading back to Bad Rock; glad we did that. Overall, definitely recommend Bad Rock.

I'm looking for another excuse to go back to Bad Rock B&B. The weather and the beauty of Columbia Falls doesn't hurt, but Mark (the owner) has done everything that can possibly be done to make his B&B a place you won't want to leave. He has something for everyone. My wife and I loved it. My kids loved it. It's safe. It's beautiful. It's spacious. The folks that help Mark with the place are wonderful as well. In addition to all of the normal things that you would expect at a B&B, there is also a separate building right next door that has air hockey and pool tables, tv's, etc. There's even an area to build campfires at night with wood all ready to go. There's a grill if you want to grill out. There's a beer and wine area--and he doesn't even charge for the beer and wine. There are all kinds of incidentals that he has available for folks; everything from bug spray, sunscreen, bandaids, and foot powder, to bear spray, backpacks and walking sticks. Mark is there to make sure that you have everything you need, spend as little additional money as possible, and come back to a beautiful and relaxing environment. And the food is wonderful. I always looked forward to breakfast. The other guests were wonderful as well. I just cannot recommend Mark's place highly enough. I asked Mark how he came to create such a fine place. He said that he used to travel a lot for business. And he made Bad Rock a place that had everything that he always wanted a place to have when he was traveling. He definitely accomplished his goal. I would go back in a heartbeat and hope to have the chance in the near future. I'm looking for excuses now.--Drew Trotman, Nashville, TN

We had a wonderful stay. This comfortable B&B has every amenity covered and southern hospitality in abundance. Thank you Mark for everything from snacks and drinks to insightful advice on the park, dining, and directions. We'll be back.

My husband and I loved this bed and breakfast. The property was gorgeous. The rooms were well-kept and comfortable. The hosts were really friendly, informative, and thoughtful. The little touches they added really turned our stay from a good one to a fantastic one. Breakfast is delicious and complementary everyday. Mark went out of his way to make sure that I had a vegetarian option. One morning when we left very early to drive to East Glacier, Mark left to-go breakfasts in the fridge for us and coffee cups in our room. The B&B's generosity even extended to loaning us a pair of snow shoes when we went to Hidden Lake and bear spray for every hike. We also enjoyed access to the laundry, fire pit, wine and game room. We'd recommend staying at Bad Rock Bed and Breakfast to anyone heading to Glacier or the surrounding area.

We only spent one night and should have spent more. Our room (Lake McDonald) was very roomy with two lavies and two very comortable beds. Property is very nicely landscaped and loved their two dogs - Sandy and Annie. Spent twice this much at the Whitefish Lodge and not as nice. Only draw back is no tv's in the rooms but available in the central house. Great breakfast and enjoyed meeting other guests as well as Mark and his wife. Great recommendation for dinner. Nice quiet location and perfect for seeing the local sights.

My wife and I married on July 4th, 2011, and we wanted a place to stay near Glacier for our honeymoon. We searched around and went with a Bed and Breakfast choice for accomodations. After reading reviews of Bad Rock, we made the decision to stay here, and we are both so glad we did. On our first morning, my wife awoke with an eye issue that needed medical attention. Mark, the owner, was quick to call around and find us a place to seek help. We didn't make Glacier park that day as we ended up needing two appointments to see an eye specialist. The morning meals that were provided to us were exceptional. We enjoyed each and every one of them. Meals were plentyful and came with plenty of coffee and juice. We met many people during our stay from all over this country as well as other countries. We also met people who were repeat clients to Bad Rock. Mark is a very personable and enjoyable owner. We loved our conversations with him. Bad rock provides everything you might need if you forget something, and even offers a complimentary beer and wine treat every night if you so wish. Highly recommend Bad Rock!! You won't be sorry.

Room Tip: If you want more privacy, reserve one of the rooms in the cabins, there are four total rooms
