Bad Rock Bed and Breakfast

My husband and I, along with another couple, did a road trip to Glacier Park in late June/early July and stayed 3 nights at the Bad Rock B&B. Believe me, there's NOTHING "Bad" about this place. We and our companions stayed in 2 cabin rooms behind the main house and speaking for all 4 of us, we found them to be uber clean and comfortable. We're early risers so each morning we had our coffee on the back patio behind the cabins and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. In the evenings we often sat on the patio by the main house, sipping wine and chatting with Mark, the owner, and other guests. Mark was wonderful to work with and made every effort to ensure that our stay was top notch. He provided excellent information about places to visit and activities available in the area. Based on Mark's advice, we made a day trip to Bowman Lake and it turned out to be one of the top highlights of our entire vacation. The breakfasts served in the large sunroom in the main house were outstanding; especially the egg/polenta dish. Mark was gracious in giving me the recipe, and tips for it, so we can enjoy it at home. Based on our recommendation, another couple just returned from staying at the Bad Rock and are now also singing praises for the facility. We will definitely plan on staying again if we're back in the area. Thanks Mark for all your hard work in having a super place where travelers can feel truly welcome! Nebraska road warriors

Room Tip: The cabin rooms probably afford the most privacy.

My husband and I were stressed out and we wanted to get away. We came to this B&B - peaceful, relaxing, hosts were very friendly, every need is attended to. Breakfasts were GREAT!!! They have a wonderful game room - we enjoyed playing air hockey. Hosts provided bear mace, umbrellas, walking sticks, sun block - anything you needed to be able to enjoy your time at Glacier. When we got ready to leave the host graciously looked up our route on the internet to see if it was closed due to smoke from the nearby forest fires. We can't wait to go back!!! One of the best B&B's we have stayed at!!!

We can't say enough as to how wonderful the owner treated us. We were there for the 4th of July and Wow- what a show with all the fireworks going on. We sat on the front porch and had a great view. We stayed in the big guest house with 3 or 4 bedrooms. The 4th bedroom was the landing area, but it was great for our children because there were two day beds. the home was very comfortable: with a large kitchen (had all the utensils), dining room (seats 8 or more), large bedrooms & family room. The water tastes very good - the owner has it filtered. All the beds were very comfortable. Each bedroom had their own bathroom. The master bedroom had a huge spa tub. The house was very clean and it even had a laundry room. We needed that after our children played in the lakes and creeks. The owner was very friendly. He had games, books, umbrellas, drinks, snacks and anything else you need to make your trip comfortable. In the guest house you don't get breakfast because it had a kitchen so we paid a very nominal fee to eat the huge breakfast. It was very good and there was so much of it we didn't even have to buy or take a lunch. He even had bear spray- I thought who needs bear spray we are only going in populated places and guest what we actually saw a bear. He has the place for sale - I sure hope when it is sold that the new owners won't change a thing. We will definitely stay there again and again and again.

Room Tip: Master Bedroom is very sunny in the morning.

We stayed here 5 nights while we explored the Glacier area. Our room came with a wonderful guide of the area - written by the owner Mark. He could answered any questions we had and had a good knowledge of the area. He has bear spray and walking sticks for hikers.

Beer, wine and sodas plus snacks are available in the main house. There are laundry facilities. Our bedroom in the main house was very comfortable. We had a small refrigerator and there are microwaves in the kitchen.

Mark cooks a different breakfast every morning. We had waffles with fresh fruit, croissant egg sandwiches and fritattas as well as coffee, juice and cereal that are always available.

We had interesting breakfast conversations every morning, as is typical at a B&B.

Our only complaint is that breakfast is at 8:30. You could arrange to eat earlier, but that seems like a late start when the sun is up early and the national park is VERY busy in the summer months.

We stayed in the newly renovated big house with 3 plus bedrooms, a large beautiful kitchen and large family room. Laundry facilities were great to have at that stage of our trip. The host was friendly and helpful. They have games and drinks in the B&B house which some of us explored. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed with a large group, taking up two rooms in the main house, and the entire large guest house. The rooms were large, with their own private bathrooms. The guest house is enormous, with a full kitchen with a large amount of cooking utensils (we cooked and grilled dinner on two occasions for 10 people with no problems). Beer and wine is provided for guests, along with decent wireless internet access pretty much anywhere on the property. Even though it is only 15-20 minutes from town, it is dead quiet at night. Wonderful for sleeping.

The owner (Mark) was very flexible with our arrival times, and was an excellent host. He is very knowledgeable about the park and even provided our group with bear spray and hiking poles. The breakfasts are not overly elaborate, but are thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I can't say enough good things about the owner. He runs the B&B because he wants to, rather than having to, and it shows. Everything has thought put behind it and is for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests.

We (husband, myself, our toddler, and another couple) stayed in the guest apartment and it exceeded our expectations. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen, dining, and living room areas were huge, and complete with dishes, pots and pans, puzzles, books, and games. The finishes inside all seemed very new and modern, and there was even a washer/dryer in the attached garage area for our use. In addition to the guest apartment we had access to the main house, where we ate breakfast each morning (delicious!!!) and obtained invaluable tips for seeing Glacier National Park.

Many B&B's do not allow children, but Mark made us and our toddler feel right at home by providing a pack 'n play and high chair for the apartment and another high chair for breakfast in the main house. Our little guy loved all the open space outside, he got to sit in a tractor and swing in the hammock. We didn't get to check out the barn but were told there is a pool table and table hockey in there.

I wish we had stayed here another day or two with more time to explore Glacier and relax in the spacious guest apartment - I suppose we will just have to come back!
