We were the only diners and they opened the dining room for us rather than have us eat at the bar. They were very accommodating and pleasant. So much to look at in the dining room and the story of the place is a must read.
Our dinner was delicious, well cooked and large. Not fancy food, just good down home cooking.

We love to stop here after a day of hiking in the Bitterroot Mountains. The locals can be counted on to be in their same places at the bar, and they always greet newcomers with a smile and a nod. Dinners are basic fare, too salty usually but wash that down with an ice cold beer and you are just fine. The burgers are very good, and they hand cut their own french fries. We sit in the bar as there is a huge stone fireplace, a pool table and usually 60's and 70's soft rock playing (unless there is a game on the TV). Patty, one of the waitresses is incredible, friendly and fun. There are the ubiquitous poker machines, but they are not loud or obnoxious.

I have been eating at the Rocky Knob since I was a kid, probably over 20 years. I have never had a bad meal there. Mostly, I order their ribs and they are a messy goodness. The setting is beautiful and the place itself has a lot of history. It is worth visiting at least once.

We have dined at this restaurant numerous times and always find the food and service to be very good.. The restaurant is quite "rustic" and is always full of the local characters...cowboys, skiers, hunters, fisherman, etc. The portions are hearty and I love their homemade salad dressings.Order the Prime Rib and you will not be disappointed. The staff is very attentive and always friendly. Prices are reasonable...

We stopped here on the way back from skiing and we all thought it was very good. The portion size was good and the presentation was excellent. When we were there, it was a little later in the evening so it wasn't exceptionally crowded. I have the rib steak with mashed potatoes and a side salad. All very tasty. Everything was fairly priced too. Don't forget the cheesecake with huckleberries either!
