This is a new B&B (opened in October 2009) but the owners, Inge and Monte have many years experience in the hospitality business, and it shows! It's the little details that take a stay from great to truly excellent, and Inge and Monte have got it just right. The basics are all superb... comfortable, beautifully appointed rooms; squeaky clean, well-stocked and tasteful bathrooms; a welcoming and calming living room with chairs, a large sofa, and a huge flat-screen TV; a gourmet breakfast of fresh fruit, greek yoghurt with honey, a "tailored" entree (Inge asks you what kind of things you like), with good quality coffee and, to finish, a fresh fruit pastry slice that would rival those served in a high class restaurant; friendly and entertaining hosts, who know just how to make you feel special without overdoing it. Oh, and did we mention the stunning backdrop - the Sapphire Mountains on one side and the Rocky Mountains on the other.
And then there were the little details: scented candles in the rooms and living room; heated tiles in the bathroom; custom-made organic toiletries by Kettle Care (a Montana based company); and delicious Ghiradelli chocolates by the bed.
The property is 5 miles from Darby, so it is a short drive to the nearby stores and restaurants. But Inge and Monte also have a grill/BBQ if you want to cook your own dinner, and are very accommodating to try to make your stay the best it can possibly be. We are on a long cycling tour, so cooked our own supper, and found everything we needed in the grocery store in Darby. We would recommend this place unreservedly.
