“perfect in every way”
Reviewed 14 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We would like to recommend The Cottages at Glacier. Managed by Sally and Terry Welder. We have rented both a cabin and the Pinnacle Cottages. Both were equally excellent in their own way. The cabin was private, in the country, and well appointed. The Cottages at the top of the Hill, in St. Mary's is what people think of when they think of the excellent experience, as one visits Glacier National Park. The views are spectacular from the cottage.

The three things you want to know about these properties, is that they are well managed, the focus is on the people renting the property, and the experience of renting these locations, makes you glad to be on vacation.

Sally Welder grew up in the Black family who founded and ran St. Mary's at the foothils of Glacier National Park. That tradition is continued with The Cottages at Glacier. This is indeed the place to stay if you wish to visit the East side of Glacier National Park.

“Spectacular views, warm and welcoming cottages”
Reviewed 30 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

4 of us (family and friends) stayed in one of the cottages at Glacier for a couple of nights. We were warmly welcomed by lovely hosts Terry and Sally, who have established a series of beautifully laid-out cottages overlooking St Mary Lake and the mountains beyond. The cottages have very comfortable beds, a kitchen and bathroom and cosy lounge with gorgeous views and a fire to switch on when you feel like curling up with a glass of wine. Terry and Sally know the area intimately having had a long, close relationship with it - which is great for advice and stories!

Only a short drive away are different walks to chose from - we did the walk up to Iceberg Lake which was gorgeous and afforded us more beautiful views and sightings of mountain goat, bighorn sheep and 2 moose (although these can also be sighted near the cottages - ask Terry and Sally for tips).

A really wonderful stay in a gorgeous place!

Thank you Terry and Sally for setting this up!

“Awesome Place!”
Reviewed 28 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The Cottages at Glacier are amazing! The view is spectacular! The cottages sit on a hillside facing Glacier National Park, St. Mary Lake and the surrounding mountains. The cottage itself is very nice with two bedrooms, furnished kitchen and fireplace in the living room. The living room has large glass windows overlooking the amazing view. You can also take in the view from the deck which has a grill. We saw a mother and baby moose one morning right outside our cabin door! The owners are super nice and will help with advice on hiking and things to do. The cottages are close to the most beautiful parts of the park: Logan Pass, St. Mary Lake and Many Glacier. We loved this place!! We hope to return in the near future and bring friends!

“3 night stay in cozy cabin”
Reviewed 25 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I don't even know where to start.... driving up to the property the darling cabins are situated on the top of the hill overlooking St. Mary's Lake and a clear view of the mountains. It is at the end of going to the sun road on the east side of GNP. Our cabin was waiting for us and as soon as I walked in I was drawn to the huge windows and deck with the most amazing view. Terry promptly greeted us and couldn't have been more kind and welcoming. The cabin was so much like home making the stay extra special. We are hiking enthusiasts so having all the conveniences of a kitchen is helping in preparing meals and preparing for hikes. Coming home to a fire and view after a shower was the perfect ending to each day. The wifi worked great and there is a flat screen tv with cable available. The cabin is clean, the towels, blankets all smell so fresh. The beds were crazy comfortable and the cabin is even provided with hotel amenities such as soap, shower gel, hair dryer, etc. The cabin is stocked full of dishes, utensils and appliances to make your stay convenient. I appreciated the hand soap (instead of just bar soap) and paper towels too! Terry even provided us with bear spray for our hikes which saves you a lot of $$$. There is even a complimentary washer/dryer to use on site! There is a grocery store directly across the street for last minute necessities. Having St. Mary's as a 'base camp' was convenient for all our east side hikes. We are so grateful for the hospitality of this adorable cabin away from home. It was hard to leave such a special place and hope to return someday!

“Perfect location, great views”
Reviewed 16 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This is the perfect location for exploring the east side of Glacier NP. The Cottages at Glacier are located at the beginning of the Going to the Sun Road, and also have easy access to the Two Medicine and Many Glacier areas of the park and Waterton NP in Canada. The views of St. Mary Lake and the mountains from our deck were outstanding. The cottage was well appointed and the owners were most helpful during our stay. I would stay here again.
