We stayed several days last month in the Bison Cottage. A traditional motel room with a couple of beds wasn't really an option for us, as we had five people in our party. This room, with its pair of queen beds each with a single bunk bed above it, was ideal for us--my mother took one lower bed, my two daughters shared the other, and their friend and I each took one of the upper beds.
The owners were nice people who seemed genuinely interested in making sure that we knew what both the property and the surrounding town and area had to offer. The property had several amenities that we never had a chance to take advantage of--a nice-looking hot tub, a staircase down to the river--because we were really only in the room during sleeping hours (including a couple of quick mid-day nap stops), but for those who like to relax around their lodging place those things would be a plus.
One thing I appreciated was hearing the owner praise the employees working there--the main housekeepers this summer are a couple of students from Eastern Europe, and the owner made a point of mentioning how reliable they were. The room was indeed clean each time we returned to it.
The property was well-located for us as well. We were doing a whitewater rafting trip with Flying Pig Adventures, and the two places were maybe a hundred yards apart. Just a block over in the other direction was the town market, which was convenient as well.
Overall, a very nice experience. Don't know when we'll be returning to the area, but when we do we'll definitely consider staying here again.
