Gardiner is a something of a culinary wasteland (which hardly matters: most of us are here for the landscapes and wildlife). If you prefer to keep it simple (and edible), this friendly little wifi cafe offers a snackable array: decent sandwiches, the weird but refreshing 'Italian soda' and not-bad coffee. The ambience is friendly, and the bookshop carried up-to-the-minute popular science as well as a smattering of good fiction. An excellent place for a moment cocooned in world culture before you head back to the all-American magnificence of Yellowstone.
