Sometimes traveling can be difficult - Yellowstone Village Inn and Suites make it easy on you. We have a young daughter, my wife and I have patronized this establishment many times and it keeps getting better. Clean, well-lit, pool for the kiddo. The rooms are decent sized, climate controlled, and comfortable. Great value for what they deliver.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a condo - they're awesome

We stayed at the Yellowstone Village Inn for 2 nights while visiting the north area of Yellowstone. As soon as you drive through the NW entrance of Yellowstone your in Gardiner. A quaint little town reminiscent of an old western scene. The hotel is located less than 10 minutes from the entrance, approx. 15 min. to Mammoth, & approx 1 hour to Lamar Valley. The town is small but has everything from grocery, restaurants, gift shopping & park supplies. On our arrival to the Inn we were greeted by a very friendly & helpful staff. They are very knowledgeable about the area & are so happy to help in any way.The Inn has rooms in the main part but also has cabin like rooms on the premises. Our room was on the second floor facing the road but had a nice view of the mountains & wildlife at times. Getting up to the second floor maybe difficult for some as they do not have an elevator. Our room had a king bed, tv, small frig, air conditioner,& plenty of storage space. The room was clean, quiet & spacious. However, the single vanity lacked the needed space. The heated indoor pool was down the hall from our room. In the morning they offer a light continental breakfast & always have fresh coffee available. Also free wifi as well. When leaving we donated some items including bear spray which they will lend to its guests. Such a great convenience since we paid $50 for something we would never use again.I highly recommend having it when hiking the Mammoth beaver pond trail as it may save you against the territorial elk during birthing season.

We stayed here while visiting the park the last week in May. The one bedroom with queen bed in the common room was perfect for us and our 2 college kids. We were in one of the cabins away from the main hotel and it was incredibly clean, quiet, and peaceful. The rooms aren't huge and there isn't much common space, but the cleanliness and freshness of the place outweighs that. The owners clearly keep this place up and improvements seem to be happening on a continuing basis. Beds are great and the owners have put personal touches and care into each room. The owners were very present - Wanda and Bert - attentive, and incredibly helpful regarding anything we needed or asked info on. We usually prefer family-owned and run hotels like this and our visit here didn't disappoint. The breakfast room is small and the breakfast itself a bit spartan, but it's enough to get you to your next stop or real breakfast somewhere on the road. Or you may want to use the frig and full kitchen in the room to manage your own breakfast. We'd stay here again and are sending some friends here on their upcoming trip to Yellowstone.

Room Tip: The side cabin rooms away from the main hotel seemed quieter and offer a bit of a front porch, which...

We stayed here for two nights in a single kingsize room while visiting north Yellowstone. The hotel is clean and airy and I would guess that it had been recently refurbished. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. I think the hotel is set up for short stays as there was no storage space to speak of and although the room had all the basics, there were 'no frills' and the room was characterless (just like most mid range chain motels). We found the staff welcoming and helpful and the hotel peaceful. Gardiner is a nice little place with a variety of shops and places to eat and this hotel is on the far edge of town so is quiet but has easy access to all the town has to offer. Access to Yellowstone is simple and nearby. The biggest cause of contention with the hotel is their 'free' breakfast. They offer a very basic continental breakfast with muffins, toast, bagels, fruit juice and tea / coffee. While this is, at best, adequate, the room provided for breakfast is far, far too small with only three tables. We met a small coach party all trying to grab a bite to eat one morning and it was chaos - one toaster broke down and the orange juice dispenser stopped working and everyone was bumping into everyone else. Basically, most people who stay here are long gone by breakfast time and the offer of a free breakfast, while a nice thought, doesn't really work in practice. Having said that, don't be put off this hotel - it has a lot else going for it and is a good choice for the area. Maybe go out for breakfast ?

We had a room with 2 queen beds, it was very large, but all it had besides the beds was a typical motel style round kitchen type table & 2 kitchen chairs, there was plenty of room for at least a comfortable chair... Flat screen TV hung from the ceiling in the corner by the miniscule window, almost "basement" small, which makes no sense since the room was quite large. So the room felt dark and slightly claustrophobic to me. The room and lobby were very clean, the bathroom was toilet and tub and so small you had to shut the door to reach the toilet paper, the sink was in the main room right next to the door. It was fairly loud, we could hear doors slamming until 11pm and starting up again by 7 am, when the shower went on in the room next door it sounded like there was a jet engine in our room for a few minutes.
Breakfast was literally Costco muffins, coffee, juice and apples.
There is an indoor pool which was very basic, no lounge chairs or anything, just a bench and a picnic table which is very odd. No hot tub which would be wonderful if they had one, cold climate area and all.
The owners were very nice, very friendly, very helpful, they take great pride in there hotel and it is family owned and operated. I would go back because it is family owned and it was so very clean.
I highly suggest an upstairs room away from the lobby and tiny breakfast area (3 tables), the view to the front of the hotel is nice, the back view is of the owners home and saw mill.

We read the reviews and were excited to stay here, but were disappointed. The resident owners are great, outgoing and helpful. The decor neat and pleasant. However, the basic room was small, stuffy, and not comfortable, and we slept poorly.
Free breakfast was noted with a large sign, but is was very limited- orange juice, coffee, and muffins,

Wanda and Bert are so warm and welcoming and our suite was perfect. My girlfriend and I were visiting Yellowstone and had a suite. One bedroom with king bed and queen bed in common area. Room also had full kitchen and fridge with picnic table on front porch. It was perfect for our needs. Made breakfast in all 3 mornings. And if you are visiting Yellowstone and aren't staying in the park, Gardiner is a great choice. The north entrance has the famous arch where you enter the Park. The people in Gardiner are friendly and helpful. And the setting is also beautiful.
