Very reasonable rooms for the location just outside of Yellowstone. The rooms are a little small but they have a full size fridge and 2 burner stove. The employees were very helpful and accommodating. the area is touristy with shops and restaurants.

The Hillside Cottages are all individually designed so I can only speak of Cottage #11. It was very small but amazingly engineered. It had a Queen size bed (one person has to crawl over the other to get out), a TV, Cooktop, Dorm-size Fridge, Microwave, coffee maker, & toaster. There isn't a lot of room for anything else so you need to be good at organizing your stuff. Parking is difficult here and a couple of times we had to knock on cabin doors to ask if they would do a better job of parking so we could get our car in. The shower was low flow and lukewarm. Wi-fi is only available if you stand next to the owner's cabin. But it was very clean, had lots of amenities and for $90 was a bargain. PS we did not have an issue with noise.

These cabins were very close to Yellowstone which is what we were looking for. They were clean and very basic. We had a kitchenette, table and chairs, shower, TV, microwave which is all we needed because we were in the park from sunrise to sunset. Check in was quick and all questions were handled to where is a good place to eat to where do we park. Parking is a little tight and tricky but not bad. We enjoyed these cabins and would stay here again. They are a great value to be so close to the park.

Stay started out poor, an young man started checking us in, but not nice, and young lady took over, and it was better. The room was clean, medium size, and had nice kitchenette. The bathroom was small, shower only, and the towels were very small, and lightweight. Do not expect any service, the office was always locked with no one around. The location is nice, parking a little funky, but OK. We had cabin #3 and I was always afraid my wife or I was going to fall off the porch which should have a railing, it is about a 3 foot drop as you come out the screen door. I would stay again as location was great for north end of Yellowstone.

Pros- Friendly owners, Quick check-in, Dish Network, Clean, Fridge, Coffee maker, Stove, Microwave, Air Conditioner, The price reasonable, average mattress.
Cons- No tub (shower only), Luke warm water, no hair dryer, no iron, Chilly bathroom, Limited parking area, Cabins located in a residential area, No cups for coffee or dishes, No ice, No travel toiletry, No grill.

Gardiner is a very busy, noise tiny town and all the hotels are located in the heart of it and Hill Crest is no exception. The owners are friendly and check-in was not a hassle. The cabins were clean, but the parking is very limited and the areas around the cabins are dumpy residential homes. We were lucky enough to select a cabin next door to the owners and felt safe to sleep at night (suite C). If you are a person who likes to walk into town to gift shop, this is a great location. We were really wanting something a little more outside of town and quieter.
The cabins were roomy on the inside and clean with a fresh smell. It was hot in the afternoons and we were thankful for the air conditioner. At night, it grew chilly and we turned the heat on in the bathroom to its capability of 75 and we still froze. We only had luke-warm water with almost no water pressure. We had went swimming in the hot springs nearby and when we returned in the crispy night air, we really wanted a hot shower, but our water was so cold my little one could not even stand it to shower. I complained, but the maintenance man, who was very friendly, said that was as warm as he could control the water because of legal regulations with the City of Gardiner.
We enjoyed Dish Network after staying in Yellowstone without television. We had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, but no cups and a stove without dishes. Our cabin had a little picnic table and a bench which was nice to be able to sit outside at night. We purchased hot cocoa in town and enjoyed the stars. The grass around our cabin needed a trim, so we had to watch for snakes by the picnic table. The restaurants in Gardiner are terrible and a grill outside our cabin would have been a wonderful compliment to the picnic cabin.
Most of the hotels in Gardiner are worn and very expensive. $200 a night for a basic Choice Hotel, so the price at Hillcrest was more than reasonable compared to the surrounding accommodations.

Room Tip: Request a cottage away from residential property. Bring your own coffee cups.

We didn't have reservations anywhere so we just drove into town and looked for a place. Some of the other motels were VERY expensive so we just looked til we found something reasonable. It was cute & decorated nicely, but was small. The rooms hde a fridge, microwave & coffee pot. The most important thing to me was how clean it was (being a former motel owner myself). It was clean and the staff was very helpful. I would stay there again if we passed through. It was a nice little mom & pop operation. Cleanliness was my #1 priority and they filled the bill!!

Absolutley wonderful experience from making our reservations with Annie in January to our stay on Aug 8th. Arrival couldn't have been more welcoming and Annie was more than accomodating with answers to our questions re: the area. The cottage, # 7, was perfect for two. Everything inside as stated, no surprises. For the people who complain about the size of the rooms, you need to look at the sign when you drive in to rent a room and pay attention to the word "Cottage". We had one of our best night's sleep here. Clean, quiet, great location, parking next to front door, pride of ownership obvious and owners who appreciate your business.
