My wife and I just returned from a two day trip to Yellowstone National Park. About 20 minutes from the north entrance to the park, near Gardiner, MT, is a great B&B. This is the first time we have stayed at the Yellowstone Basin Inn but it will not be our last. I really cannot think of any negative points regarding this Inn. We stayed in the "La Duke" room. It is a good sized, very comfortable room. Nicely furnished with western style chairs, table, refrigerator, flatscreen tv, and a very comfortable king size bed. I think what impressed me most was how well we were taken care of by the owner Greg, and staff member Scott. Greg really made it a point to make sure we knew all about our room and the inn in general. He took us to the room and showed us how everything from the tv, to the door lock, to the thermostat operated. Greg also made sure we knew how to work the hot tub and where to find the delicious breakfast offered in the morning. Since my wife and I were interested in hiking in Yellowstone, Greg spent all the time we needed to ask him questions about trails for hiking and biking. His knowledge about the park is truly impressive. To sum up, the Yellowstone Basin Inn is a very comfortable, reasonably priced inn, with a friendly and informative staff. I know we will be back for future stays and I would highly recommend the inn to anyone traveling to Yellowstone.

Room Tip: I think any of the rooms would be nice judging from how much we enjoyed our room. It just depends on the size of the room you need. The view is the same from all the rooms; a beautiful view looking at the mountains around Gardiner.

Thank you for your fantastic review of the Yellowstone Basin Inn. We really care about our guest experience.
The only correction is that we are only 8 minutes (not 20) to the North entrance of Yellowstone National Park (we are 5 miles from the North entrance and you can drive 70 miles an hour, 4 of the 5 miles).
Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you here soon,
Greg Strauss - Yellowstone Basin Inn

We stayed at the Yellowstone Basin Inn for three nights in the spring of 2013. It is a cozy, comfortable and quiet place, a few miles out of the tiny town of Gardiner MT (be aware that you do have to drive a bit to get to anything/anywhere), which is right next to the north entrance of Yellowstone and hence a good point from which to explore the park without paying for the pricey accommodation IN the park (although most of the more famous sights are a bit of a drive, I'd say the north of Yellowstone may be underrated). Our room was clean and had pretty much all the basic amenities (the one thing we missed was the possibility to make coffee). Breakfast was home-made and pretty good too. The owners care about their guests and we have received all the advice and assistance we could gave asked for.

Thank you for you review of the Yellowstone Basin Inn. We are glad you enjoyed our property. We work very hard to offer a cozy, comfortable, quiet and clean inn for our quests. All the suites have kitchens which have coffee makes. The rooms do not have coffee makers but they are available upon request. Thanks for the good review on our organic buffet breakfast, we take pride knowing that our guest start their day our right.

After hours exploring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, it was delightful to return to our spacious, bright, clean and quiet lodging. From our room we had glorious vistas and enjoyed watching elk and deer in the nearby fields.

We appreciate the Inn's use of organic, sustainable foods and products. Special requests are met with eager cooperation.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs have great views.

The Yellowstone Basin Inn is close to town and close to Yellowstone with a beautiful view across the valley. The Paradise Cabin room had a rustic look but was modern and very clean. The little gas fireplace added a warm and cozy touch after some chilly April days in Yellowstone. We appreciated the kitchenette that was well supplied with dishes, utensils, paper towels and all that we needed. Greg was very hospitable and welcoming and offered fine dining suggestions and great ideas of where to go. We would happily stay there again.

We are glad that you visited us in our off season so you can enjoy the Park at a different time of year. We appreciate your detailed review of our property and yes, the Paradise Cabin room offers a rustic feeling with modern amenities in a beautiful and clean inn. It is a very popular unit for couples. We stayed at the Yellowstone Basin Inn last Summer. The room was clean and quiet. The inn has beautiful views. That alone would give it a high rating but the service is above and beyond any 5 star hotel we've stayed at. I must be on a gluten free diet and I mentioned this when booking our stay. I was told to remind them when we checked in. It was so nice to have a hot breakfast that wasn't grits! They had the most amazing gluten free muffins and made a delicious casserole that I could enjoy. Not only that, our Innkeeper has extensive knowledge of the area he is more than happy to share with the guests. He even recommended a restaurant that was fantastic and we ate there twice (Gluten Free Menu). We will be staying there again!
