I booked my stay at the Yellowstone Basin Inn about 7 months ahead of my trip, based on a random internet search of hotels in the Gardiner, MT area. The place looked appealing as well as intriguing on the internet advertising calf roping lessons, a hot tub, and a number of interesting sounding room names for accommodations. I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the hospitality and personal attention offered by Greg the owner and later experienced a the great gourmet breakfast prepared by his wife Sabina. My room was simple, yet clean and comfortable with a western flavor with log furniture, etc.

The Inn is about 3 miles north of Gardiner and was a nice drive into town, with the distance to the north entrance to Yellowstone about 5 miles from the Inn.

Great place to stay with a lot of piece and quiet. I didn't take advantage of the hot tub and the breakfast every day, but it was a bargain and a very pleasant place to stay!

Room Tip: Be sure you know how many people will be staying with you on your trip and be sure to advise Inn man...

Rooms were clean and spacious with a nice kitchen area. Was a little surprised to see the rooms open directly to the outside like a motel. But, this wasn't an issue, the Inn is located far enough from the road to be quiet. It's a few miles outside of Gardiner with views of Electric Peak. Got to watch an eagle each morning on the banks of the Yellowstone. The breakfast was tasty, made with local ingredients; however, portions were small and not a very large selection. Owner was pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed the stay, but felt it was over priced. Note, the office closes promptly at 9pm.

We spent only one night at this lovely place and we enjoyed every second.
The staff were so nice, especially Greg (the manager) who taught us how to catch bulls with a rope and guided us to all of the Yellowstone milestones.

Amazing views and a great location just outside the park and 5 mins drive from Gardiner to pick up any supplies we needed on our way to the park (they also do pack lunches for you if required). The room were clean, big enough and nice and quiet. Breakfasts were tasty and healthy. The owners were very helpful explaining all the details required to maximise our time in Yellowstone. The real highlight was the hot-tub which was a perfect way to relax under the stars and a lightening storm after a long day in the park.

Spent 3 nights there in early August 2013, Greg as stated in other reviews is very helpful in planning for you what to see in Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. Breakfast was great including the take along lunch and bottled water. Room was very clean and bed was very comfy
Greg even game me a tip where to go for a run off the main road near the Inn

Room Tip: ask for one of the larger rooms

Picked this hotel from Trip advisor and was not disappointed. Had a clean quiet room. The owner/operators are very attentive and followed through on all their promises. Offered very good dinner suggestions, guidance advice into Yellowstone, made sure the hot tub was ready for use and ice when we hit the road in the morning. No disappointments at all. Would recommend to anyone and go back anytime.

Room Tip: I like a firm bed and my wife a softer one. They have both, so if you have a preference you can ask...

Greg is the guy you'd like to have as a hotel owner, hiking guide, newsman...
I traveled with my wife and two daughters. We planned our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks ahead, booked six hotels, since we wanted to see max. geysers, mountains, wildlife,...everything, as it is physically possible in one short 7 nights/8 days trip. We were driving from upper to lower loop and back. Yellowstone Basin Inn is located about 5 miles from the center of Gardiner (North entry point of Yellowstone Park). We stayed there for two nights. Nice clean and very quite hotel with very pleasant and informative owner, who actually makes you feel welcomed here. There are several things you won't expect in park hotels, but it's there for you: flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, hot tub, sanitized bathroom, well-made organic sandwiches (fair priced) for your hiking trails prepared in advance, along with cold water and cooler! I had really nice time sitting on a terrace' rocking chair, drinking local stout and watching sunset over the mountains in complete silence. If you can imagine that in your mind - you'll be there as well.
