“JDP16”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

Wow a very impressive sight. Must have been stupendous in Clark's day. Breathtaking valley, rushing river and falls. Great little picnic area. The road is a little narrow but worth it.

Go just four miles farther to moroney dam and enjoy some fishing two of us caught three foot northern pike. We let them go for others to enjoy but wow, what a blast it was catching a fish like that.

It was extremely interesting and relaxing. What a great opportunity for the kids to learn more about dams.

“OK for a Quick Stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

I've seen better waterfalls and question whether it is worth the drive out to see. It does have a nice picnic grounds, and the swinging bridge is fun for the kids, but we walked up the short trail, took a few pictures, and questioned whether or not it worth the confusing drive out. I'll give it a neutral rating, but not a must see.

“Lewis & Clark POI”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

The family picnic area on the island is very nice. There is a swinging bridge entrance, which is quite fun for the adventurous. Above the picnic grounds there is a viewing area of the dam and the Great Falls of the Missouri. This is the 1st of the 5 falls close together where Lewis & Clark really accepted that the mythical northwest passage would not exist. Identification from the Mt93 indicating that this a Lewis/Clark point of interest is non-existent. Look for Ryan Falls as the indicator. The road to get there is in poor shape and you'll think you are lost but the falls are interesting.
