Symes is a wonderful place. Do not go here expecting a modern Holiday Inn. The place is old and smells like eggs... because its a hot springs.. duh. It's just a really fun place and hard to describe. No TV in the rooms and cell phones do not work. It's definitely not for everyone but if you want to have a unique trip go here! You will be relaxed for days.

“114 Degrees of Awesomeness”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

If you're looking for a way to soak in hot spring water in a great, private jacuzzi, and you only have a few hours, then this is place, and you’re not looking for a large, modern establishment, try Symes!

Syme's Hot Springs has stood the test of time, and there's good reason it's on the National Historical Register. Symes has retained its old-school charm, having idiosyncratic character and warm, friendly, and honest proprietor. If you’re looking for a new, contemporary hotel with click-heel service, this isn't the place. If you’re looking for charming little historic gem with a little restaurant and bar, 3 options for experiencing hot spring water, even for a few hours, and friendly service for a great price, stop on by.

Options for experiencing the hot springs here include:

-Claw-footed bathtubs enclosed for privacy (in one part of the building), with hot spring water delivered to each tub (the tubs looked dated, but the water was probably fine.)

-An outside pool fed by hot springs

-A clean, white, beautiful Jacuzzi fed by hot springs water, with a large, cedar fence enclosing the area, for privacy, with flowers and benches as well.

-Rooms to rent.

-A restaurant and bar.

-Private, gender separated locker areas, with showers.

Again, this is not a contemporary, modern place, but one of the few with a private Jacuzzi area allowing people to experience the hot springs, if only for a few hours.

“Once Was”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

We stopped here unexpectedly after speaking with a clerk at the nearby gas station. We drove up to Symes Hot Spring hotel and saw an old hotel with hot spring pools. After checking things out, I concluded that at one time this was the "in place to be." The woman in charge was so nice and offered us a very reasonable price to soak in the hot springs for our short visit. The venture was something on my bucket list and so I finally got to soak for awhile in a hot spring out west!

“I can't believe I paid $70”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

We looked at every room that was available and decided on the most expensive one because it was newly renovated. It was terrible! The smell of urine and mold in every room. We slept on top of the covers in our own sleeping bags and used our own pillows it was that bad.... I wish I would have read the reviews on Tripadvisor before staying here. I would not recommend this to anyone and will not stay there again. OMG!!!
