We enjoyed this place so much that we stayed four nights. This place is a great throwback to plain and simple accommodations. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need if you like a straight forward cabin. The place is very clean and the cafe next door serves breakfast and lunch items that are cooked just as you like them. Do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes with the owner, Bob. If you are in cabin 6, don't worry about street noise. All of the traffic seems to cease after nine p.m.

While traveling around glacier we chose to stay 1 night at Bobs cabins. We had a very nice cabin with a huge kitchen. We had all the anemities. Bob was very gracious and made us feel right at home. I would definitely stay there again and even refered others on our way to Canada to stay here.

We had a room at a brand name hotel in Whitefish, which was luxurious as compared to what this cabin turned out to be. And the brand name places in Whitefish are only 15 minutes away from Hungry Horse. So, please don't be fooled by the lavish reviews here. I got burned and hopefully my experience will save you money and disappointment.
These and similar cabins in places like Hungry Horse, Columbia Falls, and others are opportunistic business lodgings along Montana highway 2, and belong to the times when much better name brand hotels had not moved into the area.
Bob, the owner of this place, is indeed a very nice person personally but his personality will not determine the value you'll get for your money. These cabins are a good value for parties of more than four who can jam 4-8 people in two rooms and then write lavish reviews here. The facts is that this property, like many similar others, is by no means remote or quiet or anything. It is separated from the very busy highway 2 by the side walk. That's how close it is to the highway. The towels looked to be washed but the bed linens are polyester and dark prints, and are so for a purpose, that you can't tell whether they are clean or dirty, or when was the last time they were cleaned. And if you are allergic to cigarette smoke and pet hair, etc. imagine that up to eight people may have been in these two rooms before you, and cursory cleaning after them.
The picture given for these cabins, of a bed with white linens, is fake. You won't find any such thing. Also, the restaurant too with glowing reviews here, is now closed.
My recommendation: stay in a name brand place at Whitefish, which may add a bit to your driving back and forth to GNP, but it will be well worth it. There aren't any name brand places yet on the East side.
I am enclosing a picture of the name brand accommodation we had in Whitefish and for fifty dollar less than the rate for this cabin. These, and similar, highway-side cabins on both sides of highway 2 are a bad joke.

We stayed for one night in a cabin at the Glacier B&B and Cabins in Hungry Horse. We were a little concerned because when we made the reservation because we did not receive any kind of confirmation. But when we arrived Bob had our reservation and there was no issue. The location is right on Highway 2 in Hungry Horse. When we arrived we didn't realize that we needed to check in at the Sinclair gas station. I was looking for some type of office. I made a quick call and they explained just to come into the gas station. We checked in an got the cabin that is closest to the road. The cabin was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates, etc. The kitchen also had a large refrigerator, stove, table & chairs. The bedroom had 2 beds, a dresser and closet. The beds were ok but should probably have the mattress replaced soon. The carpeting in the bedroom also could use an update. The living room had a chair, futon & brand new flat screen tv.

The location is great for a base to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Also, since it is located right on the highway there are restaurants near by.

We could hear road noise all night due to the cabin we were in. If you book a cabin there, ask for one that is set back from the road. Bob, the owner, is a really nice man.

Room Tip: If staying in a cabin, ask for one that is further away from the highway.

Highly recommend staying here. Bob is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. There is a full grocery store almost right next door. The cabins are behind his combo restaurant and gas station on Hwy 2, just 10 miles from West Glacier entrance. We had a problem with the tv and Bob was right on it, and apologized about 3 different times. I don't normally watch tv on vacation but wanted to catch up on the olympics. This looks like a cabin on the outside, with a deck with table and chairs, but is a one bedroom house inside. We stayed in cabin 7 right behind restaurant and 40 feet from parking lot. The bedroom is as large as a hotel room with 2 comfortable queens and several chairs, and there's a futon in the living room. Kitchen and full bath are also large. Full size fridge too. My only 4 rating is on cleanliness because when we wiped up a small water spill off kitchen tiled floor, the paper towel came up a little dirty.
Air conditioning, ceiling fan in bedroom. Good food in small resaurant, just don't be in a hurry as only 2 people working, one cooks (son?) and daughter in-law who waits tables and also cooks. Great value, location, would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here I night before an extended stay in Glacier National Park. Glacier Bed and Breakfast & Log Cabins were a much more reasonable cost and value than anything we researched from Whitefish towards the west entrance of Glacier National Park. For app. $135. we had a clean, spacious cabin that could have easily slept 5 people. There was a full kitchen, tub and shower, air conditioning, plenty of room for my husband and I to spread out to repack from our flight into Missoula before heading into the park. A picnic table and grilll was available outside the cabin. A slightly musty smell indoors was quickly eliminated by having the windows open for 30 minutes.

Had we not already had reservations in the park, this place could have easily been a base for 2-3 day trips into the west side of the park which was about a 35 minute drive. This would be a great value for a family. Some of the cabins are set back further from the road but inside the cabin with the air conditioning on we didn't hear any outside noise. Conveniently, there is a gas station, convenience store and cafe/ restaurant on site. Breakfast at the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.

When we made the reservation because Bob didn't take a credit card # or send a confirmation, but he was a man of his word and was expecting us. Even if you have a reservation best to call ahead if you're going to be arriving in the evening so he can leave a light on and tell you where the key will be.

Room Tip: Ask if a cabin back from the road is available.

My husband and I stayed with Bob in late July on our trip to Glacier. We were offered either cabin or B/B bedroom. We chose the house because I wanted a warm bath. Bob and staff were very friendly. This room was basically a bedroom in his house that was clean and charmingly outdated. Breakfast was at his nearby restaurant. Thanks for the stay.
