We stayed two nights here during our tour of the area. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Our cabin/bungalow was just yards from the Yellowstone River. The room was adequate with a great view. It was quiet and peaceful and clean, if a little rustic. Just what one would expect in this part of the country. Breakfast was included and we ate in the restaurant two nights. The food and service were top notch, good as you could find anywhere, much less way out there. The second night we ate out on the veranda overlooking the beautiful valley and river. It was a little distance from most anywhere, but the drive was worth it.

Thanks for coming and staying with us on your vacation.

It's certainly hard to beat the views from the patio and restaurant and we are happy to hear you enjoyed them. If you have a chance to return to Montana in the Fall, it's worth it to see the colors change, and we'd be delighted to have you back!

We loved every minute of our 4 night stay at Yellowstone Valley Lodge! Our cozy cabin was perched above the beautiful Yellowstone River, which was full with the spring run-off. The wonderful staff were so friendly and helpful. I knew they would take care of anything we needed. The cabin was comfortable and equipped with a small refrigerator and a TV. We especially liked the sound of the river, walks around the grounds, the amazing dinner at the grill, the delicious breakfast every morning (which one day included a spinach quiche and another day included made-to-order waffles) and the opportunity to watch a family of great horned owls.
Dinner at the grill was great, but there are also other places to eat in Livingston and in Gardiner. Yellowstone's north entrance is a short drive away. I recommend Yellowstone Valley Lodge as a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in May and took advantage of a great deal from Travelzoo. We hope to go back again!

Room Tip: The view from our cozy cabin was amazing!

Thanks for coming out guys. You came at a great time of year, and it was nice to see people walking over the grounds every day. Glad you enjoyed your meals here too, we always appreciate the feedback. And we'll try and give you updates on the owl family as time goes on. Hope to see you next time!

My adult daughter and I booked a cabin with 2 Queen beds for 2 nights. The rack rate of $220/night would have been ok, but with our Travelzoo deal, we got 2 nights for $200 including breakfast.

The cabin had Wifi and TV, was rustic and comfortable. A semi-private balcony overlooks the Yellowstone River. The location is 20 minutes south of Livingston and 45 minutes from the northern entrance to Yellowstone NP. We would have stayed 4 nights but they were booked. Breakfast was buffet style and well-presented. There are only 12 cabins, so the buffet was not large, but it was more than adequate.

Dinner is served in the same room and was haute cuisine...really upscale at a reasonable price. The dining room is not large and reservations are suggested. There are not many, if any, other dining facilities within a few miles, so be prepared to drive a ways to eat elsewhere or be glad that you're eating here. Service at the restaurant was a little slow, probably due to the large crowd and only 2 servers.

Jim at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

Thanks for coming out, and able to take advantage of one of our specials. Sorry we were full up through the weekend, but it sounds like you both had a good time. I'm glad your surprise worked out for you both. We will have to check out the site you went to that day.
I"ll be sure to tell the Grill that you enjoyed their food, they do a great job down there.
Thanks again, it was nice to meet you both. See you next vacation!

My adult daughter and I stayed two nights at the lodge on our Yellowstone trip, one night upon arrival in Montana and one night before departing from Bozeman. The cabins are perfection. Rustic, roomy with high quality bedding, organic toiletries and each with their own patio facing the Yellowstone River. For anyone who travels, keep in mind you are in a National Park area, not a big city, The Yellowstone Lodge is luxury in this area. They are equipped with tv , although surrounded by natures beauty, I can't imagine watching television. We arrived in the evening to a mob of deer gathered on the front property. (yes, a group of deer is called a mob) Sitting on our patio, looking out over the river and mountain range was a sight to behold. Very peaceful, very relaxing. There was a full moon reflecting off the snow covered mountain range upon our return trip. The cabin was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. It was very cold at night and the heater worked perfectly and the hot water was plentiful, contrary to another review. My daughter and I take long showers and put it to the test. The staff were accommodating and professional. Any of our requests were pleasantly met. The staff are familiar with recommendations for the area. A very nice continental breakfast was served in the morning and we were thrilled to view an owl nest as we walked the property.
The lodge is located just about 40 miles outside the Yellowstone N
Entrance, which made it a perfect starting point for our mornings drive to the park. The Grill was closed on our visit, as we were on the cusp of the season opening. I look forward to dining there next time around as the reviews are excellent.
When we return to Yellowstone, we will definitely reserve our overnights at Yellowstone Valley Lodge. We highly recommend the lodge for your overnight in the area.

Thanks for coming out, it was a pleasure to meet you both. I'm glad you were able to come back and stay with us after you left Yellowstone, too. We enjoy our spot here too, and it's always nice to share. I'm sorry that the Grill was closed, I hope we can get you in the next time. And let's hope the owls will still be around for you to see.
Thanks again for using us as a "base camp" for a couple of days, you both were great. See you next time!

I'll admit up front that I'm quite jaded. I fish a few miles up the road and the YVL couldn't be anymore perfect for me(I've stayed on numerous occasions). The addition of the TV's is great. Marcos and the entire YVG staff are outstanding in both food and service. The very thoughtful wine list complements the food very well. I'll be back at least two more times this summer. Keep up the great work and thanks again!

My fiance and I stopped here for a night during our Montana road trip to Yellowstone Park. The little cabin we stayed in was amazing. The views of the water were just like in the photo, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The rooms were a bit outdated, but the patio and lawn chairs made up for it. We sat, watching the river for hours!

The food was AMAZING. 10/10, 5-stars. If you go here, you must eat here too! Highly recommended overall.

Although traffic sound from road ruins any feeling of really being in nature cabin.Patio is a nice feature, stars abound at night.
Cabin was VERY clean. High end linens on bed deserve a star alone. The area is nice. Walk to onsite restaurant not far but quite steep each way and handicappers may have issues, in which then you could drive and drop off and return vehicle to parking area near office.
The restaurant was not to be missed. The Chef was awesome. All the food tastes blended so smoothly and quietly on the tongue,it was a real treat to have a fine city dining experience in the middle of no where really. Who would have thought. :) For two people (ala carte menu) we had dinner salad which was out of this world, tenderloin steak, my husband had the smoked trout and we shared a dessert and the bill was $80.00( without alcohol) . Less pricier than ANY city restaurants of same caliber,so we were doubly impressed and will always stop in there for a meal when in the area. They had a GREAT selection of wines and cigars! Very impressive.
The only reason no five star is there are no tv's in cabins! Really missed as it was cold out,end of season and most things were closed to do at night.
The heaters in room are an annoyance. They turn on, gets room too warm, and it seemed never to have happy medium. The warmer light in bathroom was not working and beware hot water doesn't last too long either. If these two things wouldn't bother you ...go for it. As for us and the room, I have hesitations on staying again when chilly, yet will continue to patronize the restaurant for sure! Staff was accommodating and helpful.

Room Tip: cabins near office have better wifi connection

Thank you for your review, these are always very helpful to us. I apologize that the heaters were noisy and the hot water heater and fan was not working properly; I will look into these items. The TVs may take a bit more work, but we'll look into this, too!
I'm happy you were able to enjoy our restaurant, they do a great job there. Thank you for your kind words. We hope you can make it out again when we reopen in the Spring!
